I know I'm trying to polish a turd here, but what else can we do?
Not a turd at all. The dial is actually very good for the points. It's just not the savage beatdown version of the Hulk we all thought we were going to get. Hence the disappointment.

I never 'thought' we were going to get a savage beatdown version. We got what I expected, but I'm still disappointed. And on my birthday, I don't think that's cool at all.
But that's okay...next week we can all be disappointed in Silver Surfer, too.
I'd like to remark about everyone's suggestions on getting the prize to the out-of-towner...
I told the person I'd mail the figure to him when it came in, so I must honor my word and do just that. He did win fair and square, despite him being an assclown, and it is his prize no matter what. I'd like to make him drive 2 hours for it but I'm kinda hoping he doesn't come back ever again. Maybe mailing it to him gives him no reason to come to our store ever again.
And as for holding the prize till he got it, I'd hold it indefinitely for him. It is his prize that he earned. To hold it and then give it to someone else after a certain ammount of time just seems wrong to me.
I completely agree. The first thing that came to mind when people were saying to tell him you will hold it until the next IG event was that you are basically asking this dink to come shark the next event.

Well, to me this Hulk isn't even accurate. No 'madder he gets the stronger he gets' which is the main basis of the character on almost any Hulk released in this or the Hulk set - the 001 being the exception? I'm sorry, but the dial design is just going south in a lot of ways, and not just on Hulk.
I'll give him the Regeneration with a defense higher than 15 point, though.
My opinion. Also, my birthday...so that makes my opinion FACT.

Happy Birthday, sol...and we now know that you got the best birthday gift possible in advance --- with her arrival timed so she'd be here to help her daddy blow out his birthday candles!

Just what I'd expect from someone I'm honored to consider a friend.
Tim Burton was right: "A square jaw does not a Batman make." Steve Buscemi as the next Batman! Luke Perry as Joker! Let's make it happen!
True. Regardless, best Hulk in the game? I think so.

I was thinking about this earlier (the thing about this Hulk not having a "rage" mechanic) and I'm comfortable with the abstraction that he's been riled up pre-battle and this is already angry Defenders Hulk.
As for dial designs "going south", I'd say they're a little short of their peak (Hammer of Thor, maybe?) but there are a lot of remarkably well-designed figures out recently or soon. More than in the past, I think. New Dr. Strange? Fantastic design.

I think we're going through a transistion period with dial design, and until some older stuff retires, it's going to seem like figures are weaker in comparison. 200-300 points seems to be getting reserved for amped-up versions of cosmic characters, and 200 is getting to be the ceiling for "very powerul" figures.
Not that we shouldn't have a Hulk that's 200 (or more) based on that scale, but I do think that a year from now, these dials are going to seem perfectly normal.

That's my theory, anyway.
I'd like that. I'd prefer they really get point costs under control so the game can really fit in 300 points. Thanos at 300 points? Great! He should essentially be the epitome of high point characters. It will never be perfect, but let's scale things down so you can have more than 3 characters on a 300 point team without just playing generic minions.
