I too won my month one AvX. Played X-men in an all avenger world. I pulled and Iron Doom and played him with 100 point Cyclops. The Ruler Keyword worked well together, Double outwit and Indom just worked great. I only lost Cyclops in one game, every other game was a wipe.

First Round faced Thor, Scarlet Witch and Guardian
2nd Round faced Spider-man, Wolverine, Happy Hogan (with the Freak in reserve) and Scarecrow
3rd Round faced Spider-man, Scarlet Witch and Melter.

Sucks as the only X-men player as I can't win that Iron Man, even if I win every tournament because there's like a 30 point difference in one tournament between me and the Avengers.

Gratz on your wins, Fred. You went up against some pretty heavy hitters. Could you please explain about winning the Iron Man? Is that an OP prize that you can only win if you play figures from the Avengers starter?

I think it's more of the end prize once all the tournaments for AvX are done. The top three players for the winning side get the prize. They did the same with Fear Itself. Since he's X-Men, he can't hope to outscore all the other players.

Fred, you should see if they can do an averaging system. That's what they did at my venue because everyone picked The Mighty except me and one other player. We did a running average per team and the Worthy came out on top.

In cases of complete unbalance like that, I tend to just do top three players, regardless of faction. Or top two and overall fellowship.

That sounds fair to me. Fortunately, the venue that I played at didn't really care which faction you played - as long as you use figures from either starter. I like it better that way, especially if I was in Fred's shoes and playing X-Men meant exclusion from winning Avengers prize support.

Oh, sweeeet!!! I was putting away my figures from last week's tourney and it turns out that I missed spotting a SR. I had an Iron Monger in one of the TIIM boosters. I knew next to nothing about the set and didn't notice the golden tab. That means that out of 2 boosters I got an SR and a Prime (Sasquatch). Cool deal!!!

Well, had thought I'd be getting roles to everyone tonite'ish as an early Nightmare Before Christmas Present but we've had a death in the family so not sure how that will be affecting things.

Re: AvX, we played 400, no more than 200 points had to come from 1 random IIM booster, and no more than 200 points had to from a constructed portion which included at least 1 figure from one of the AvX starters.

I played Magneto at 200, Centurius (much better than I expected with that +2 perplex and anti enemy perplex), Crimson Cowl, and the low cost Bulldozer with Wrecking crew ATA.

Rd. 1 vs. 100 pt Thor, 100 pt. Scarlet Witch, Guardian and Sasha Hammer.
Rd. 2 vs. TB Quicksilver, 100 pt. Cyke with a 13 point utility belt, Northstar, 90 pt. Wrecker, and the AE Rescue (he did not realize that it wasn't a starting line, and by the time I realized it, it was half way through the match, and I told him to just play through it.)
Rd. 3 vs. 125 pt. Spidey with a full Utility Belt and Secret Avengers ATA, 50 point Enchantress, Iron Engine, rookie Bulldozer.

I full cleared everyone I played. That Magneto with TK support is ridiculous. It even wrecked that hypersonic stealth Spidey.
