Claiming early as neutral should not be a lynchable offense.

Claiming as town and being copped neutral is a lynchable offense offense.

It's true I wasn't exactly under pressure but my claim came about because I was trying to remind people not to get blinders as to "Hawt" and felt admitting I was a machine would just have people call nonsense unless I pointed out the double-edge sword that came with picking a non-human. I was using "evidence" to back an "argument".

So, yeah, to me that's reason as opposed to a lot of the ways I've seen people just blurt out they were Neutral (pax being infamous for it ).

Depends on the situation Truff. I think if you're caught doing something shady and claim neutral, that requires more investigation. But hating on neutrals because they volunteered their alignment in the early game, is super lame. I can see where it would piss someone off late game though.
