But it was a good time, regardless. BatB makes for some very odd and fun teams. Zombies, Robots, Cops, and plain ol' Superheroes. They were all there in force.

Gotta admit, blindsided by the Phalanx. :P

Went pretty good. 6 people showed. Rolland won, but he'll always know that he wouldn't win without borrowing from others! J/K.

...actually, I really like that episode of South Park, which I generally regard as the superior show.

But whatever, I like lots of stuff.

Actually both shows (FG and SP) constantly insult ones intelligence. Simpsons may have "jumped the shark", but its far from insulting. And I KNOW I'm not the only one who feels that way (who isn't a religious fanatic or political grunt) about FG.

Good times at the tourney tonight. We had 4 of the top 8 ranked players in town attending (prior to tonight's results). First time in a long time that kind of power at a weekly tourney.

Didn't see alot of duplicate figs, especially for a floor tourney of a weak set. Most players ran one figure to make the floor requirement. Batman/GA, Flash/GL, and Black Lantern Supes. I ran:
Lex Luthor/Brainiac
+ Protected
+ Nanoarmor
+ Monster Societ of Evil ATA
Phalanx Soldier x6

The team went 3-0 and took names along the way. Blitzkrieg stragety; get in your face, attack and then push Phalanx, Luthor/Brainiac repositions and attacks if need be.

Round 1 went up against Dave's Black Hand, War Machine, SHIELD Iron Man (new guy, didn't make a floor team). Only lost 2 Phalanx, no damage to Luthor/Brainiac. Based his shooters and let the Phalanx do their thing.

Round 2 took one Tyler and his Kal-L team. Included HoT Cap and Gee. When I went in to base, Luthor/Brainiac move and attacked and one-shotted Gee. HBK cleared his guys, didn't want to push on Phalanx. Two attacks from Phalanx later, Cap is dead. Then several hits on Kal-L got him to HSS. He took out 1 Phalanx as he moved away. Re-based with the team. Luthor/Brainiac with the KOing blow. Only took 1 damage from a push.

Round 3 was against Dustin and his Batman/Green Arrow Detective team. He picked the prison map. Turn 3 got in his face and we bottlenecked and slugged it out in the hallway. A tale of making and missing rolls by both of us. When the dust settled it was a fully healed Luthor/Brainiac vs Bats/GA 1 click down. Damage reduction and the ATA were the difference. Dustin missed a crucial break away roll, but I had a prob to make him reroll it. A timely ATA damage clicked Bats/GA from an 18 to 16 defense. Luthor did the rest. Only took 2 clicks of damage.

The team is strong and took alot of people by suprise. The in-your-face mechanic messes with alot of other mechanics and makes most players uneasy. Great concept for Floor. Not completly sold in a Restriced environment. Will have to see.

You need to update your rankings then. Neither Dave, Nor Juan or I is in your top ten in your blog.

And to think I failed arts & crafts in school.

Bored Inspiration

I really liked how our teams worked out tonight actually. Thinking back on them, it really did come out about evenly until that final stand-off. All of the support, on both sides, totally demolished. Finally, there was a Spaghetti-Western style gunfight between Brainiac/Luthor and Batman/Green Arrow. Luthor's gun was not as accurate, but it was bigger. Shotgun took down pistol. :P

Since when did everything on tv have to be intelligent or have redeaming qualities? I fully understand why people don't like those shows..... I happen to like them though.

Plus how awesome was the last Simpsons intro? I still have Tick Tock stuck in my head.
