I'd say looking at:

HoT Cap
HoT Moonstone

maybe HoT Venom

Those top two for sure as they provide a lot of offense. Your small HSS....Lashina?

You know Rolland. Each piece can't be "gimmicky" and must be capable of self offense. So Venom (IMO) is out. Was thinking Kid Flash (with Manuver. From the Throg tourny) or Kid Zoom to put the opponent in jepordy. They'd have to commit an outwitter or a running shotter to take out KZ to free up their HSS pieces. Sounds like an easy trap to spring to me! And remember, Transporters use HSS (as of BN starter) so they're gonna suffer too.

Ideally you would want you HSS nat to have a printed 3 damage. See Johnny Quick or Aurora LE. So they can take out walls for your shooter and TKer. But we don't have that piece in the environment.

Lashina is good, but have to activate her. Kid Zoom is a nice meta game piece. Dawnstar has the Quarry power for AV pump.

At some point it's just playtesting to find the right mix. May need one power and not another. May need to compromise and use a flyer instead of a grounded figure.

Just a quick update:

Per NECA: Blackest Night starters have been delayed. They are expected to ship the first week of June.

If retailers are selling starters it is because they are reselling items they picked up at one of the 3 recent Cons at which NECA had some product that they air shipped in.

Will some stores get their starters before that June date?

I will see everyone at lsom later. Can't wait.

Reading some threads in general discussion, the product in those preview starters are subpar. The plastic used for the molds is substandard.

One of the theories of the delayed release is they are remaking the starters with better materials.

That sounds probable. They had sited 'production delays' for the problems. Rather a delayed release than a crappy one.


Wow, looks like I'll be able to get out to Sunday AND Tuesday this week (and mmmmaybe Wednesday, though I'd be late for sure). Nothin' short of awesome!

I'll be there early Tuesday to playtest with you other Genconners.

I hope that's the case and I say nertz to those who got the sub-standard products.

I don't really buy that theory. Without ANY experience in the industry, I still think that if was an issue of changing materials, then the delay would be much longer. I think it was probably just some general issues such as the factory having trouble making deadlines. So if the factory isn't making their deadlines by a few days, and then they have to reschedule when they can ship all their product, that can add a few days...so you have the set delayed by a 2 or 3 weeks.

In the meantime, WizKids wants to be conservative and say it won't be released until June. However, it could show up earlier, and everyone will be happier that it's sooner rather than later.

I've made two 3-D pogs this week. I made a Space Phantom pog from Cosmic King and some putty hair. He's on a coin protector.

Swarm is Pied Pier with Brown and black polka dots (Made to look like bees).

And finally Ragnarok (some call him Clor) is a HoH Thor with some battle damage. He's on (common) Thor's dail and he ruled @$$ yesterday.
