Secret Santana this year, anyone?

Had a hell of a weekend.

Kicked a 25 yard field goal as part of a promotional drawing at a HS football game Friday, won $100. Managed to embarrass my 8th grade daughter who was playing with the HS band in the process.

Went to a Speakeasy event with my wife for some dancing and drinking in period costume fun Saturday evening. Won a poker tournament while I was there, the winning prize was a bible with a cutout for a flask
Other good NSFW things happened too.

Sunday, we put away the Halloween decorations, put up more fall type stuff and I cooked dinner, as it was our turn to host some neighbors. We had homemade slow-cooker meatball subs and sweet potato fries with marshmallow cream for dipping.

Then some wife time to finish off the evening.

Easily one of the top 3 weekend in the last dozen years or so.

Dude, you are living the life! I'm impressed you kicked that field goal. It's not easy to kick the ball the correct way so that it will actually travel in a straight line.

My wife and I dressed up as Jack and Sally and went to the LV Philharmonic's Danny Elfman tribute.

I wonder who you could you be eluding to? I've seen Volbeat live, they were excellent. I remember when I saw Volbeat, they brought up a bunch kids (5-6 year olds from the crowd) on stage to rock out with them. Then they had the crowd give them an ovation for being the rockers of the future. I thought it was a cool gesture, since, my buddies kid was able to get on stage. I like the song, except for the rag time piano. Clutch has a song called Vision Quest on their newest album (Book of Bad Decisions) with rag time piano and I skip it all the time.

I'll be in your state, this coming weekend in Annapolis for ROC states at Third Eye Games. It will be my first time playing there. I've played at several WKO's in Glen Burnie at Games and Stuff. Looking forward to seeing some of the guys that play there.

My form was not quite what it was supposed to be, but I was wearing sneakers and the field was damp, I was afraid I would slip if I really laid into it, that means the ball drifted a bit to the right, but it felt really good. You can hear the announcer in the back ground poking fun at my age.


I know you guys like dressing up as much as we do. Was the performance good?

It was fantastic. It was one of those things where it seemed like they hardly played (because there's so much that could be played), and it was over before I realized it was done.

Before the event started, they had a quasi Q&A. The conductor led the discussion with the pianist, a bassoon player, and a clarinet player. When they opened up the questions for the audience, I was picked for the first question. I think I was chosen because the conductor noticed me earlier and commented earlier on my costume. It turns out that was all of the time they had, and so I had the only question.
