Question at large:

If I realize that I want to tweak my core just a bit, would I be able to at the end of the round?

Basically, I want to start Spidey off at his most expensive Rookie, but would need a few more points so I would need to drop a character. Would it be allowed? If not, no biggie, just wondering.

Sorry I held up the draft. I've been mega busy with my girlfriends birthday and traveling back from LA. I also came in a bit late and needed to size up my options.

Cram stole my first pick. Already had my precious Destiny too. I think I know what the rest of my draft is gonna look like.

Actually they're separate characters. Always have been in League 1...didn't we have a short debate about this also concerning the Legion? It's not the same situation since all three Legions are enmeshed into the characters (ie threeboot costumes and pre crisis origins), so it's not an easy cut and dry and then you have Mon-el, Valor, and M'Onel all in the same progression. So to make it easier, we just lumped them all together. With the Supergirls, it is pretty cut and dry between precrisis and post crisis. Anyways, the REV Unleashed and CR SR are Pre Crisis Supergirl and the Origins REV is the New Earth Supergirl.

This is consistent with what I was told when I proposed taking LoSH for my team.

I vaguely remember the debate, although I don't recall the outcome. However, I don't think it's at all consistent to lump pre-Crisis R Mon-El into the same progression as post-Crisis Valor and M'Onel while separating pre-Crisis and post-Crisis Supergirl. If the pre-Crisis/post-Crisis distinction is cut and dry, it's just as cut and dry for Mon-El as it is for Supergirl.

Given the meshing of the various Mon-el versions (and other Legion characters) over the years, I tend to fall into Tanis' camp saying that the two situations are different.

Supergirl was a critical character who died in the first Crisis, and then had a whole new origin story about 5 years ago on New Earth. Whereas the Legion has never had that level of distinction of consistently telling new origin stories and instead picking up at random points in the Legion's history.

However, that is with not reading Legion of 3 Worlds which has clarified where the different Legions sit in reference to New Earth and the 52. That may imply a need for examining.

Sadly, I don't think things will ever be 'cut and dry' where the Legion is concerned. There will always be quid dro quos, howevers and mayhaps for comics and clix fans
(I had to check my Legion apostrophe's throughout this post).

Hence why I hate that all the Legion are from different eras.

It's been a while since I read the Reboot Legion, but that series started from the beginning and definitely retold the team's origin with the founders saving R. J. Brande. It certainly didn't pick up with a random point in the Legion's history. I haven't followed Threeboot Legion closely enough to know what the writers did with an origin story.

Legion continuity in the comics will probably never be cut-and-dry, but if you can draw a bright line between pre-Crisis and post-Crisis for League purposes, you can draw the same line for Mon-El as for Supergirl.

Marvel Round 1 is essentially done except for Tanis' compensation pick following the steal by the Dark X-Men. Any other steal to be made, I'll need by Thursday morning. Second round picks will begin to go up then as well, so get them to me if you haven't.

Would anyone want to play a practice game with the 200 point core? I just havn't used this map set up before and though it'd be helpful to try it before the season starts.
