No he can't. Mastermind is still Mastermind and requires adjacency to work. Unless it's a special version of the power and the description specifically says they can use it on non-adjacent characters, which Mysterio's does not. Mysterio will take the hit.
Presumably you have another Dire Wraith to use before you're done?
Yes, and I will try to get to all the games today.
The other wraith on Mysterio, he will boost his av to 10. Needs 5 but has to evade sc. 5. With ps it works. Needs 5 to ko, gets 2. For the love of Pete...!
Sue, how is still she here?, force blasts Shang-Chi. 3. H13 for him. SS is 5. He's fine.
Casper boosts Hellion's dv.
Stellar turn. At least Mysterio takes 2 and 1 illusion is out.

Let's see if we can finally rectify that Sue still being here thing. Her Hide and Seek Trait only looks at whether a character was within 3 squares at the start of the turn to target her, and there are quite a few of those.
First, Mysterio Poisons Jacob for 1.
Shang-Chi goes to his Defense clicks
Rainbow Raider changes to Light Blue
Ock on Sue, AV10 on DV18 -1. SC first is 4. Gets 4. No good.
Sphiinx RS to B15. Can he target Sue? SC is 1. AV10 on DV18 -1. Gets 7. But without Ock to soften her up, she only takes 3 after Toughness which is not a KO
Star Sapphire RS to J15 on Hellion, Av10 on DV17. Gets 4. And again, my PC is on the other side of the map.
"I have been thwarted by the Fantastic Four before. It will be my pleasure to take my vengeance on at least one of their members," the Sphinx said, hitting the Invisible Woman with an energy blast that shattered her force field and left her barely on her feet.
"Thwarting power-mad tyrants is what the Fantastic Four does," Sue reminded him, bravely defiant. "I may have other allies today, but we'll see you defeated just as soundly."
"You use shape-shifting to trick your enemies. But you can't out-trick me. I'm all about deception myself." the last Dire Wraith found himself surrounded by Mysterios. Unsure where to turn, it found itself assaulted on multiple sides, falling.
Engineering picks hss, ee, pc. Moved to G9 ee on a. Sc is 2. Rolls 4. Pcs it to 7. That’s very nice. She ends in N5 koing the illusions, Mysterio, Talia.
Trio of Nuke clones then. Hellion takes an action to tk two of them to GH10.
First rs to E13, blocking Talia, on Sphinx. Sc is 1. Needs 7, rolls 8. 4 for Sphinx.
The other rs to F13 on Sphinx. Needs 7, rolls 7.
Sue barriers. She can kB figures next to the barrier. Knocks Shang-Chi into the wall at H13. SS is 1. Kos him. Barrier also knocks Ock to K18.
Jack tks nuke c to the porter
He pops out at H13 to block.
So Talia, Shang-Chi and Mysterio all koed and blocked.

Whether they're a target or not you're still making a range attack and ESD says modify DV+2 against Range attacks. Now if it were Shape Change we were talking about, maybe.
Or maybe not, even. current power description of EE says "RANGE: Make a range attack, and all other characters adjacent to an original target also become targets." Not sure how that would work with SC, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it. ESD should definitely still kick in though. EE is not Pulse Wave, after all.
