Cyclops had fallen, Professor X was seriously hurt. The X-Men's morale was way down. Nothing they did seemed to hurt these Invaders. The Angel tried to hit Captain America again, but the latter's combat training far exceeded that of the youth. Meanwhile the Human Torch continued to taunt the Beast, remaining just out of reach of the X-Man's attacks.
You didn't let me know if you like the idea of the leads being able to move every turn or if you'd rather consider it the gift of the willpower ability.
I have Prof X koed by the way. The 6th click does it.
Cap does 5 for leadership.
Spitfire moves to K13, attacks Iceman, needs 8, rolls 8. Moves back to H16. 1 click to Iceman.
Toro will attack Iceman. Needs 7, rolls 7. Two more to Iceman.
Cap will attack Angel. Needs 5, rolls 7. Two more to Angel.
Subby to I14.

Marvel Girl lashed out with her telekinesis at her Atlantean attacker. As much to her surprise as his, he flew back across the room, nearly through Toro.
"Whoa!" Iceman said, "Way to go! That was beautiful. Did you see the look on his face? If these guys are robots, they are really good, cause he really looked surprised." While he was talking, he launched some ice spears at Captain America, but Cap dodged them easily.
Cap attacks Angel. Needs 4, rolls 8. Two 4s. Overkill. Angel is done.
Really Jean Grey is my problem and you only made this round go on longer, you know.
Bucky will attack Iceman. Needs 4, rolls 7. He's now ice cream.
OK here's a problem. If this were the typical game Torch would attack Beast. However I really don't want to ko Beast since he can end up full strength and in my way. I think in this case we have to do the natural actions of the characters, meaning since this is the only available attack to make, I would do it. Make sense? Torch attacks Beast. Needs 5, rolls 7 again. 2 to Beast and he's hangin' on by a thread.
So, who are you thinknig for next round? I'm going for the original Avengers but can't think who'd make a good Giant-Man.
I'm going with Beast as an Avenger, taking my team from the line-up during the Korvac story in the 170s. Took me a while to come up with a team that didn't step on your toes (I knew you'd go for the original Avengers and I didn't want to duplicate the characters if I didn't have to.
Beast will be a trooper and try for that shot on the Torch again. AV6 on DV14. He needs an 8 now. 8s have been lucky for me before...nope. Gets a 4.

Great era, probably the best range of characters (and hey, you don't have to make up a lot of them). Still considering my last line up. Kree-Skrull? Celestial Madonna era? The 'let's decide our roster' stories where Wonder Man returned? Too many great characters.
Toro uses running shot and moves to L13, attacks Jean. Needs 8, with hindering, rolls 8. 2 4s. Wow, what luck. Although we knew she would go at some point.
Cap moves to D14.

I think I'll use Doc Samson to be Giant-Man. Perplex seems appropriate since he can become Ant-Man as well and use ants.
How about a game where we select one villain from each team to make a team of 500? Like we did with the heroes awhile back. I'm in a villainy mood and you seem to excel with them. Whaddaya think?
Once we're done with this, sure. I'm always glad to play the bad guys. Don't think I could manage to juggle a third game with you right now. Got a couple of others going on and work's going to be nuts for a couple of days (so I apologize in advance if I go sporadic with my posting this week. You don't want to be working for an academic publisher the week that schools start, trust me!)
By my count, Jean's still in it, but just be a thread (in F15 thanks to Toro's knockback). She can't do anything this turn without pushing herself to death anyhow.
Beast will try once againto hit Human Torch. AV6 on DV14, needs an 8. Still getting that 6.

The Beast saw Captain America disappearing toward the portal. "Godspeed, Captain," he thought, then turned his attention back to the Torch, with as little luck as before.
I considered going for the Champions - wouldn't have to sub anyone there. Black Widow, Herc, Ghost Rider...But the first time I saw the Beast was while he was an Avenger during that period (actually, just slightly after the Korvac story, but only just) and he's been a favorite ever since, so I have a real sentimental attachment to that period.
Sure, I meant the villains idea for later. Or maybe even as a break between the My Teams Better rounds.
I also love the Beast as an Avenger (and loved the Champions for that matter). I have never been able to see him as anything else.
OK so now is my turn and I pass through the portal. Still not sure I like the 3 moves rule, seems almost too punitive. Just can't come up with another idea. Maybe Beast doesn't progress to Experienced until, say, his team koos one of mine. Dunno, seems too complex. Let me know what you think otherwise we'll leave it as is.
So two moves:
Cap goes through portal
Torch fries Beast. Needs 4, rolls 5. Beast is koed but back to his starting place at full strength.
