Fortitude on Juggernaut (worked well for me in the Superman game) - 25 points
Damage Shield on Nightcrawler - 10 points
Automatic Regeneration on Logan - 12 points
Arghh----you and fortitude. I'll probably utilize it as well. I need to think about this and get back to it, probably this weekend.
I was going to offer you Mirage to add to your team, as kind of a bonus figure since I got the new Wanda. Then I began thinking that what we're playing here isn't X-Men but more a mutant massacre. So questions (A) do you want to add Mirage to your team and I'll add someone with similar points and B) do you want to up the team to 2000 points, all-mutants, adding and dumping some of the X-folks we have....I'm kind of liking that idea. From the beginning this didn't feel like an 'X-Men' game to me. Plus you've mentioned that some of the X-folk are less worthy than others....
If you like plan B here's how I suggest we move on....first we each jettison the characters we don't care so much for, see how many we each have figure wise and that person picks until we have an even #, then we proceed normally.
I know I have a way of complicating things, so let me know what, if anything, you want to do.
So instead of purely X-Men, anyone that's a mutant is fair game (so Brotherhood members, etc. are all good?) and up it to 2000 point teams? I rather like it. If we're on the same track, then just confirm that I've got it right, and I'll see if there's anyone I want to dump.
1.) I'm too anal here and using only mutants is tough. I forget who is a mutant (technically Namor is for example but Longshot is not). I'd rather call it an "X-Man Family" game...defined as anyone significant in X-Man history. An X-Man, an X-Man enemy, an associate etc. So....Fantomex can play (my best choice), the Brood, Donald Pierce, Brotherhood are ok too. Using Spider-Man, whose worked with the team, is truly a stretch, got it?'.
2.) Let's each dump up to 5 figures each. Those figs will be open for us to pick up if we want but they go back into the pot.
3.) Once we're done let's start a new post, maybe call it "X in the Family" or "Mutant Melee".
Very good. I was wondering about including the likes of Pierce and Mojo. If we're upping it to 2000 points, of course we'll be increasing the number of figures on each team. What do you think is a good figure? Maybe 25 total? 15 for 1000 points semmed maybe just a little too many, so 25 gives us just under double the figures for double the points. If you still want to use feats, we can increase that to maybe 100 points.
I think starting a new post for the game itself once we get this hammered out is a good idea. We'll be at 8 pages into the thread before we even start the game at this point. For a story explanation, I was kind of thinking a not too distant future, Age of Apocalypse type setting, where due to some momentous event, the X-Men have disbanded and two groups have reformed themselves, with former enemies forced into alliance and former allies on opposite sides. If you've got a better idea to explain it, I'm all ears. Maybe we could include some Battlefield Conditions that relect the post apocalyptic setting. I'm thinking the new "Disbanded" BFC would be perfect, representing the collapse of the old teams.
I'm almost inclined to keep my whole team, but I don't want to give you five free picks from the new pool, so I'll throw back Magik, Marrow and Shadowcat for now. I may take them back. We'll see.
As for Fantastic Forces figures, I'd say we can draft them as they come up (as long as they fit the theme of course) up until we close the draft. Any figures that come up afterwards, well, too bad. FF Feats can be legal as well, as long as they're posted before we finish.
I like this idea, it opens up a lot of other games too. For example an FF game could include more than the FF. Doom, Annihulus, allies like Nova, even Namor and Surfer would be appropriate. The idea to me is any character significant in a books history (therefore Scarlet Witch works with an X-Man game whereas Spider-Man, who has allied with them once in a while, would not). Glad you like it, this can go far.
I'm kind of tempted not to discard any of my team either but realistically with all the good baddies out there, plus allies, I think it needs less 'X-Men' to balance. I've already dropped Domino for Scarlet Witch, whom I'll keep. For now I'll drop Iceman, Rogue and Storm, all with some reluctance.
Let's allow 1500 points, 20 figures or 2000 with 25, you can decide. Since it's my turn and we've both dropped 3 I'll take X-Man ally Fantomex. Dunno why but something about him is cool.
As for feats, bfcs. I'm cool with no bfcs, 1 each or 1 total, you can decide that. I suppose 100 points in feats, separate of the amount we choose for the figure total, is fine.
I wish I could italicize or bold the high points here, there's a lot i need you to respond back to...lemme know.
By the way I agree about the Fantastic Forces idea, anyone is open until we start a game. May use Yellowjacket in the Avengers or Submariner in Defenders for example.
I got a weird email regarding trading...I don't know if you sent it or not but if I'm supposed to give you a review, which I'd gladly do, can you resend it?.
The trading thing's an automated reply from the server when someone leaves trading feedback. It took me a while to figure out how to get it to work. If you want to leave some for me, just click on the number in parenthesis where it says trader rating next to my avatar. That's give you an overview of the feedback I've gotten. Then you can click on "submit feedback".
I like the idea of the Disbanded BFC, as I mentioned already, so I'd like to use that one. Since we're both pulling from the same teams mostly anyway, it won't affect either of us more drastically than the other. If you want to pick another one to use, go ahead. Otherwise we can just use the one.
With all the new choices open to us now, I think we should shoot for 25 figures/2000 points.
Since you dropped Domino, I'll pick her up. Can't let you have all the PC.
Don't I know it, you've always been partial to Sabretooth, Blob and Mystique at least--for reasons I can't fathom since only Sabre is a decent click.
Seriously considering Magneto as Xorn, and since that may or may not have been Erik Lensherr I figure you could take a Magneto too...Let me know your thoughts...
For now I'll snag back Storm, never a favorite but I'd planned for her in my initial strike force so I'll take her back.
Never quite followed the Magneto/Xorn thing. I thought they were two different individuals and Magneto just took his place at some point, but I could be wrong. I'd say it's okay to count them as two.
Don't forget Toad. He's another one of those clicks that I have an inexplicable fondness for despite his sub-par status. Though I have to disagree with your assessment of Mystique. For her cost, I think she's quite a decent figure.
Anyway, we discussed her, and I was going to take her before we decided to expand here, so to make it all official like, I'll take Mirage/Moonstar
Actually Magneto as Xorn was neither Xorn nor Magneto... But someone pretending to be Magneto preteneding to be Xorn. I think it was either Xorn's brother or an alien... or something ridiculous like that. Either way I think most people can agree... it was a mistake.
