This is Brian Beachcomber again. The first team has come into the first rest area completing the A very long hike. Batman seems un-phased by the trek. Steel in a desperate need of a recharge is hooked up to a portable generator and seems to be getting back up to power. The only one that seems to be worse for wear is the Blue Beetle. He is panting and puffing over near the first aid tent. Well here is the next part of the Course.
A Tough Paddle:
Combat Number Used: Attack + 2d6
Target Number: 25, then 26, then 25
Number of successes needed 3
Restrictions/Bonuses: Characters are paired up two to a canoe. Add the two characters attack together then add 2d6. Characters with Super Strength add 1 to their attack value. Characters with Smoke Cloud may use it in a level to make the target number of that level +1. Boats will not go more than one level ahead of each other.
Penalties: If characters fail twice on the same level they become fatigued and take a click of damage.
Description: Teams are given two canoes to paddle up a river. The river starts out wide and slow but then it narrows and picks up speed and becomes more difficult to make headway against. Then the size of the river lessens and it becomes easier to paddle.
Well that looks like an imposing river to me. Lets see how our contestants fare.

JLA Turn #8(Fri)
1) Batman(11) and Ralph(9) get in the other boat, roll................2,4 for 6. Total 26, success.
2) Steel(10 +1 SS) and Ted(6+1) will push to try to clear Level 2, roll.................6,6 for 12. BWAHAHAHAHHA!! . Both will take a click of push damage and will take the auto-success on their next attempt.
As Batman and Ralph reached the med-tent, Steel was just coming out.
Batman casually looked at Jon, "Fully charged?"
"Ready to go tackle the river Bats." Jon said as he closed the last clasp on his armor.
Ted was about to enter the tent when he felt an iron grip on his shoulder, "Uh Bats, something wrong?"
Batman tried to put on a reassuring face, "Nothing is wrong Ted." But it wasn't a face he used very often.
"What?" asked a very nervous Ted Kord, " Now I know something's wrong!"
"What do you mean?" asked Batman as he crossed his arms over his chest.
While they were talking, Ralph slipped into the tent, unnoticed, to take some more of his juice.
Ted continued unphased, "When there's really nothing going on you say things like," Ted put his hands behind his head with his index fingers extended to look like Batman's cowl and dropped his voice, "There's always something wrong in Gotham, or Is anything ever right in this world. Am I right?"
Ralph cam out of the tent stretching a bit looking invigorated from his tonic.
Batman, "We don't have time for this Beetle. We have to press on."
"But I have a heart condition!!!!!" Beetle tried to explain as he was escorted to a boat with Jon already sitting in it.
As the boat took off down the river Ralph and Batman got in the second boat and started to follow.
"Hey Bats, maybe we should let Ted take a break. He looks like he could use a break." Ralph tried to casually bring up his concerns.
"No. We have to win this race. Ted will play his part." Came the predictable cold response from the dark knight.
Ralph muttered under his breath, "I bet that Norwegian girl would have done better."

I made a promise to Matt Murdock to wear his mask....I've fought this war in his place.....And I'll continue to do so.
But I haven't forgotten who I am...and soon it will be time to carry my own burdens again.
Well if you have only three characters then they would all have to pile into the boat together and the two with the highest attack values (plus modifiers) would make the roll. But this is the only combined event. I purposely put it near the begining to prevent this from happening.
Just wait for the next stop!
Muahahaha!!!!

DOOM's Medic has it right. Team members cannot be more than one level ahead of the lagging member, this is a team event.
Also remember if you fail a level two times in a row (even if you did not push) your character takes a click of damage from fatigue (this is what eventually Koed Batgirl in my test run). Clixhunter and Fuzzy Blue Elf, I think both of your teams have members that have now taken a click from this.
I have to say after seeing the rolls lately I am glad I brought a Prob. Cont. character. Yikes!
