"All right," Hourman conceded. "In other circumstances, we might be allies, but for right now I've got no choice but to take you down." He grabbed a display rack and used it as a batter ram, running stright into War Machine. Or that was the plan. War Machine twisted and the weapon just glanced off his armor.
"Nice try," War Machine said, "but it's going to take a lot more than that to punch through my armor."
There was a sizzling noise and a smell of ozone, and the Penguin appeared behind Mr. Bones. "My, what a remarkable device," he said. "I must steal myself one of those."
Ok here's the prob. I didn't catch up with my own info. War Machine moved to S11 awhile ago even though I show him at T11 in my recap. If I'd realized it I woulda had Jean tk him. Ah well. War will take 1 click.
Now he attacks Bones. Needs 3, rolls 7. Bye Bones and another 80 in my bank.
Jean to R11.
T10 Captain Boomerang
R11 @ Jean Grey R (armor piercing)
S11 @ (1) War Machine E (nanobots) (protected)
As Echo appeared in a sizzling flash, Kelso took aim at Captain Boomerang. As he pulled the trigger, Boomerang tossed one of his trademark weapons. It hit the barrel of the cop's gun, sending the shot wide.
Hourman drove his fist at War Machine - and very nearly broke his hand.
"Sorry, man," War Machine apologized. "You may be strong, but there isn't much that's stronger than this armor."
"So, my formidable, fiery femme fatale, we meet again," the Penguin said.
"You're well-spoken Penguin, but a well-spoken rat is still a rat," Jean Grey retorted.
"So be it," the Penguin sighed. He shrugged his shoulders and then with surprising speed for one of his awkward build he lunged, using his umbrella like a fencer's foil. It hit Jean hard in the abdomen, knocking the breath from her. "We could have been quite a team, you and I. Pity."
"It was foolish of you to concentrate your efforts on that buffoon when there's a much greater threat near to hand," Echo said, swinging around with a roundhouse kick that caught Jean Grey in the chest, knocking the wind out of her.
"Maybe," she gasped, "but your breath at least doesn't smell of fish."
"Buffoon, am I?" the Penguin bristled. "I'll have you know that the caped crusader himself trembles in his boots at the mention of my name!" He fired a dart from his umbrella. It took Jean in the thigh and the tranquilizer on it took effect almost immediately. She was down for the count.
"I knew if I could get her to underestimate you, you'd be able to get through her defenses," Echo said slyly.
"Hmph. Well, very good." The Penguin wasn't sure whether Echo was mocking him or not, but for the sake of his ruffled ego, he decided to accept her words at face value.
