As I orginally said, Iw ould have Loeb and Turner do the "current" series, however I think Jenkins and Romita would do a good job on a series set in the silver age.
Theres only one Return, and it ain't of the King, its of the Jedi.
See, what I like about the Sentry is the fact that I stll can't figure out what the hell is going on with that guy... and it changes everytime I think I have it.

I can imagine him getting knocked out by the Silver Surfer, then Galactus can come along, use his feeding machine on Sentry and eat him, thereby killing Sentry and at the same time, sating his hunger for awhile.
I don't want to see the guy gone. However, I'm tired of the push that Marvel is giving this guy, at what seems is like the expense of their established heroes. They already have their Icons, do they really think that he needs to be one?
Let the guy grow naturally, to become a fan favorite. Don't retcon your history to have this guy fit in. Let him develop his own. Also show him doing something of worth instead of teasing the readers.
At this point, it's time to ####, or get off the pot.

I'm not sure that Marvel fans are going to accept the Sentry as a 'fan favorite'. I can think of another character that had that level of power, had a decent solo book, was a member of the Avengers, and had a high-priced (in points) Heroclix Unique...and still the fans just don't care about him.

I still say they should kill him off. Years later they'll expose him as a mutant. LOL
First, I dunno if Jenkins can/will build up Sentry like Sentry needs to be built up, I think a writer like Loeb can/would do a better job of that. And any Sentry book will be in continuity. As for him being to strong, you could say the samething about Thor being an Avenger.

I agree with you that Jenkins won't go and show his vast power. But I'm a fan of Jenkins. I guess I feel if they spent to much time showcasing how strong he was, it'd get boring. I like Jenkins style, it's just a preference. I'm not saying its good or bad.
Even though I know Sentry is just 'Marvel's Superman', I don't want him to be presented as another Superman. And I know I'm going to get alot of hate for this but I find Superman to be a kinda boring superhero. Unless magic or kryponite is involved, he's pretty going to win. Sentry has the whole 'insanity issue'. I like the idea that one day Sentry may snap and the Marvel Universe would have to deal with him. Actually with Thor's return in Civil War I was kinda hoping we'd get a Thor vs Sentry battle. Assuming they're on opposite sides that is.
Btw Loeb is cool, I liked Hush. I'm looking forward to see what he does with Ultimates.

I hear that and second it.

He's so bad, he mak'a me mad

It's Quasar, btw.
Unfortunatley, I never read Quasar's series. It was probably during the stretch of time that I was out of comics (1993-2002). Nontheless, what little I've read of the character, he doesn't interest me.
With Sentry, Marvel has made every effort to put him in the lime light. They put him on a book with 4 of their top characters (Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, and Iron Man), on their second most recognizable team (The Avengers), and with a fan favorite writer (Bendis).
During that time, he's appeared with them in T-bolts, HoM, his own mini series, an arc devoted to him, and Iron Man. With all that, people have embraced him (or rather the hype that surrounds him) and ran with it.
So, he has been bulit into a potential star for Marvel. They just haven't done much with it. The question is, how much longer are people going to hold on to him, without being given what they are waiting for? And how many people, who find continuity important, are going to accept him being retoconned into the histories of The Avengers, FF, Spider-Man, the Hulk, and the X-Men?

Actually, that's one of the reasons I've come to hate The Sentry, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone. Marvel keeps trying to force him down our throats without ever giving us a solid reason to care about him. Right now he's nothing more than a psychotic Shazam! rip-off. Why would anyone want to see a poorly-showcased copycat character show up in at least 2 books a month?
Most of the vocal comic community is sick of seeing Spider-Man and Wolverine pop up everywhere...and they've got years of history and development behind them. With Sentry, they gave us two minis (full of hype and over-exaggerated, overused psychological babble) and a ton of overexposure. What they need to do at this point is take him out of NA, keep him out of guest appearances for awhile, and give him a series where we can hopefully learn to like the character. I donb't think it'll work at this point, but they shoudl at least try it.
Honestly, I think the Quasar comparison is pretty dead-on. My favorite Quasar moment is when Thanos blew his hands off. And I get the feeling my favorite Sentry moment will be watching Thor beat him to a pulp.

Ironically enough, everything I snipped out from your message is pretty much what Marvel did with Quasar. (Many fans saw Quasar as little more than a Green Lantern derivative, btw.) The difference, as far as I can tell, was that Quasar did have his own book, and didn't necessarily have to ride the coat-tails of New Avengers, Thunderbolts, F4, etc.
I'm just totally bored with Sentry, I think the only way I'd take an interest in a solo book of his would be if it were written by Gaiman and drawn by Buckingham, and they changed his name to "Kid Marvelman".
