I liked it. I'm not sure why (maybe I spend too much time on eBay, or maybe Busiek does), but I kinda dug the irreputable auctioneer thing.
You got that it wasn't actually Batman who shot the Joker, right? That it was a cop who'd cracked and started dressing up like Batman and Joker thought that it was the real deal?
I like the story too. I was really irritated by all the scenes from their "mother ship", though. There comes a point in time where incomprehensible dialogue just wastes panels.
And the cop who shot the Joker is my new hero in life. Man, to be THAT F-ed up by a crowbar/whatever Joker was using to slice him apart like that, and then take a kill shot with a surprise pistol that THE JOKER wasn't expecting, that's something to hang on your wall. Too bad they didn't give the cop a name, and a character to boot. They'd be awesome in future Batman stories.
On another note altogether, am I the only one that is getting pissed with the NINE PAGES OF ADS in the middle of their DC books? I mean, it's like "Oh, here's an ad page, flip, another ad page.....so is the next one.......OMG WHERE DOES IT END??????"
Seriously, I really hope those guys are getting BILKED on the ad fees.

Well after reading last weeks and this weeks comics I am happy (sort of) to see Cap Atom as the Monarch now, it was very vague about his disapearance so I believe we will see him again.
Rush City was surprisingly good, but I'm a softie for missing children being reunited from their somewhat stoopid parents.
What's this ret-con #### with Gypsy being a real gypsy? Englehart you are stoopid! She was a runaway that could turn invisible by blending in with her surroundings.
After reading JLA #0 they do show the line up, there are twelve photos plus the big three total 15, Meltzer has stated that the team will start at ten members then go to eleven, its obvious the choices are on the last page. So eight of those members are on the team:
No brainers:
Hawkman
Green Arrow
Red Tornado
Green Lantern (Hal)
More than likely choices:
Cyborg
Black Canary
Vixen
Zantana - 11th member not shown on the cover of number 2, probaly joins after the first arc (Meltzer did state the team will have a mystic)
Red Herrings
Supergirl - dont need two supers on a team
Power Girl - JSA member
Aquaman - He's a squid hybrid right now
Flash - too soon to join
I don't think any of those people except maybe Red tornado will be on the team. The last I heard Hawkman had disappeared (I suppose they could find him and make him the 11th). Green Arrow is semi-retired, he's mayoring now. Despite the little preview in wizard I don't think Hal is actually going to make it onto the team, not with all the trouble he keeps stirring up. Cyborg is the core of the Teen Titans, I don't expect him to leave that team. I think DC prefers to keep Black Canary in Birds of Prey as her only team, not to mention she refused her last JLA invite. Vixen could happen, but I hope not. I don't think Zatanna will ever be in the JLA again, I don't think any of the big 3 really want her, and it seems like she's been in a funk since identity crisis.
On a different note I'm beginning to think that Adam Strange isn't actually blind. Even though they show him with no eyes he doesn't act blind at all, like he seems to be able to get around and do thing perfectly. Maybe he got some kind of supersenses from the Zeta beam disaster.

Hey, maybe that was him masquerading as DareDevil.

Oh yeah, those 8 pages of the Mountain Dew X-Treme Sports Tour (or whatever it is) are really really ticking me off. Nothing disrupts the flow of a story like having to flip through a bunch of pages of bikes jumping off ramps. Those Heroscape ones are pretty bad as well but I find that I can ususally flip through them all at once since they're folded up for that centerfold they have.
centerfold? oooooooo...... like to see one of the new Batwoman. Course, I know what you really mean and agree, but you gotta admit, my idea wouldn't be so bad to look at.

Did you read JLA #0?!? Eight of those heroes are for sureon the team. The first arc will only have ten members but it will be increased to eleven as per Meltzer. Carter has disapeared but he just may have returned in Hawkgirl, that thug may have been Carter in disguise, we will find out next issue though. Also he hasn't "disapeared" per se he just hasn't returned from wherever he is. Green Arrow a full time mayor/JLA'r? Yeah that's a stretch. If you look at the lineup this is almost a classic satellite era team which Meltzer has stated was his favorite with some twists. A Teen Titan is supposed to graduate to the "big time" with Cyborg's picture there it only makes sense. Also the big three were able to forgive each other, of acts more desperate than Zantanna's I'm sure they will give her some leway, but as usual Bats will keep an eye on her.
if you read this then you lost 10 seconds you'll never get back.
BTW, Why is it publicly known as the "Cult of Conner" when Conner was his Secret Identity name. Wouldn't someone, somewhere, ask "Conner Who"? Especially when "Conner Kent" also vanished in the Crisis, it wouldn't take someone too long to make a Kent family connection.
That is precisely what I wish to know.

And in Ion, we find out that it's not Kyle doing all that damage, and Hal finds out the hard way, against a guy he's never met before and that hasn't been seen in quite awhiile. This could be interesting.
I don't think that it is publicly known as the Cult of Connor. I don't think that it is publicly known about at all, and that the 'Cult of Connor' thing is what Ralph dubbed it.

poor Ralph. But, I thought I saw it called the cult of conner a few times by other people, like wonder girl. Can't recall where, might've been in OYL Teen titans, so that might mean she started calling it that after Ralph had called it that so often.
