yeah. i figure that the team will be brought back together by annihilation. that's gotta be what brings everything back together.
Not sure what you mean by "together". From what's being said in the last few Wizard magazines the heroes still won't be on the same side after Civil War is over nor when World War Hulk begins.
"...my eyes were watering, and my tongue was swollen, and from that moment on, I was more careful about what I lick!" -- Koda (Brother Bear)
You know, I could ACTUALLY see the Silver Surfer/Galactus thing working given what's happened in Annihilation. Sue and Johnny decide to get off Earth for a while given what's going on and what with Galactus' "status" in Annihilation he probably won't be up to full power anytime too soon. Add in the fact that Johnny was a herald briefly not too long ago and a few heralds (Red Shift and Stardust) didn't exactly fare too well in the fight against the Annihilation wave and Sue and Johnny might feel guilty for what Reed's doing with the Negative Zone (which is possibly part of the reason why Annihilus is so pissed in the first place) and it's actually feasible.
They do that for a year or so and then after the damage from Annihilation is under control they send Sue and Johnny back to Earth, they hook up with Ben, and hopefully by then Reed's come back to his senses.
But... Human Galactus? Even if he let off all his Cosmic Power to wipe out annihilus and had to build it all back he wouldn't be human. Heh unless it's one of those "He gets to piock what race he wants to be until he gains his power back." and he picks Humans cause he knows they'll help him. Like Q on Star Trek!

I have to give Kaitouace points for hitting the nail on the head.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So here I go adding to Kaitouace's sig again, but he hit the nail on the head. FOOM is very playable.
So the white married couple goes away only to bring in the black married couple that are have both been written as aloof and not team players over the years?
I would feel better if their whole marraige hadn't been a publicity stunt by marvel.

Hey on the bright side we might get a decently written Black Panther and Storm now...
The most unbelievable part of Civil War for me was the one Black Panther tie in with Rhodey. Where the Sentinel O*N*E guy was like...
"Hey what do you think of Black Panther?"
Which garnered the response of something like...
"What is Black Panther the new litmus test for black people! To see if they're too militant!"
and the sad part.... it was for that guy? Cause he'd have a problem taking down Captain America? Whaaaa???
Since when do only Black people like T'Challa? Is it really inconceviable that a white person would be on his side? I mean he helped save the freaking world plenty of times with help of the Avengers and Fantastic Four for one... He's king of a technologically advanced nation that no doubt is famous... that up since Civil War has been pretty friendly... and he's been in America... fighting crime.
Like quite honestly I don't really even see the reason all or even most of the T'challa suporters were black... He's a head of state it's not like he does anything that's indicitive of one culture or another.
If like Jay-Z shows up somewhere. Yeah maybe most of the people there are going to be black... (with plenty of white people still there). Cause rap is more culturally like that.
If like Donovan Mcnabb or Tiki Barber shows up somewhere it's going to be people of all races and most likely white people.

Yet there are some blacks who say Donovan and Tiki (especially Donovan) doesn't have enough "street cred" to be considered a "true" black man.
Whatever. When we all learn to stop having to put a label on someone, that's when things will get better.
But yeah, the Storm/T'Challa marriage was pure pub stunt. It made no sense other than to get the most famous black female married in the Marvel universe.
So.....the black married couple that are have both been written as aloof and not team players over the years
Uhm....what? Avengers/Fantastic Four and X-Men notwithstanding, I see your point. No, I really don't. They both have a rich history of being team players/members/leaders.
Half of the new Fantastic Four is......weird, I'll give you that for sure.

Well the same thing is true with the more street cred atheltes like Allen Iverson and I don't know... Strahan? Not up on who has street cred and who doesn't. Just went that way first because my first thought was baseball but then when i started picking out the big baseball names i realized they were all from south america except for ones that have become infamous lately... Bonds, Mcguire, Sosa.
My main point being that race isn't really isn't relative on whether or not you're going to like a support a celebrity unless your cultural backround based on your race makes you know a lot more about them. It's really more your exposure to them... and Black Panther has had a lot of exposure.
Sorry if it seems a bit to ranty too but it kinda drives me crazy. I haven't seen anything so ridiculious involving race since Black Manta revealed that he was black. That he was black... and that his goal was to create a nation underwater for "his people"... and that's why he wanted to enslave atlantis.

I see Storm as a poor team player for a couple of reasons. First she has a weird goddess complex and as such acts very distant to people. Secondly and possibly related to the first point, she has major problems when she isn't in control of her x-teams. Fights with Callisto, fights with Scott Summers, fights with Prof. X etc.
Black Panther in my mind is similar to Namor, just a royal pain in the butt. Now he may be written much differently these days, but these are my iconic images of him.
Either way, it feels like an uncreative switch up the team. Oh well.
Maybe she'll reset the world back to summer of 1986 and we can forget about the Mutant Massacre too. Who's with me?
I really enjoyed that story. It was bad for mutants, but in a well written, thought out story; unlike Civil War, Onslaught Saga, X-Tinction Agenda, Disbanded or Decimation.
