Then grab V Emerald Empress or Jack of Hearts or Brainiac or Nimrod or Black Bolt or LE Super-Nova or R Superman Blue or LE Polaris and slap Nova Blast on one of them and TK them out to DESTROY the next LAMP team you see.
That will teach him.
What we do in life echoes in eternity!
Respect is a given, only disrespect can be earned.
divebomb would work... once... next time i see a lamp team im gonna do 1 of two things.... a novablasting Emerald Empress and then Suicide Squad with a pog and get my health back. Or take a V Sups Icons and then just soar up and down all over the place. Soaring figures dont take poison so it will be good. But if it is an indoor map it will have to be EE.
What I like for lil lamps is outwit and lots of it. Bats, Sage, Black Panther, whoever you got, man. Get it out there and stop the poison BEFORE is starts. Then pick apart the lil p-ers.
"We're all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Wilde
Outwit works against Viper but not against Joker (who I have seen more frequently with this strategy) due to his Stealth. Pulse Wave (ideally with Nova Blast) is a much more sure counter.
Emerald Empress is certainly a strong candidate because she's cheap enough to possibly field multiples (if that's your thing), she can be healed reasonably easily using Suicide Squad, and her wildcard TA can protect her from Outwit (Batman Ally) or allow her to break away without a roll if she needs to escape (Serpent Society).
LAMP can be beaten but it really isn't much fun to play against. It's so popular because it can often secure an effective victory without the need to worry about bad luck. But once it has been beaten a few times, the LAMP player will probably move on to something else.
A Nova Blast force is a good way to discourage LAMP because they are also useful against a lot of other strategies, and because the Massive Damage! they can deal is rather intimidating. Nova Blast isn't as easy to win with as LAMP (those two clicks of pushing damage hurt, and you only have one shot), but it's generally competitive.
Guys, I am sick of seeing this team, this is not the first time. He did know who he was facing as it was just me and one other kid, and since there was only 3 we decided to have a free for all. The other kid had a V Thor SN and a V Darkseid. LAMP takes the fun out of it. In 3 turns I had a crippled GL that was just barely on its share defense clicks, and every other figure was dead with the exception of Executioner who was getting close to his phasing clicks. Next time i even see that team im not even gonna play, i will just sit and wait for my next apponent. I will never play a game when that team is on the other side of the board.
So rather than try to adapt and change your strategy, you're just going to pout and refuse to play any LAMP team ever again? Mature. Again I ask what BFCs were played... And why is it suddenly ok for you to wait to see your opponent's team and then make yours:

Isn't this the exact thing you were complaining about your opponent doing? Looking at other people's teams and then making his to counter that. So why would you turn around and do it too? If it's a problem, talk to your judge about it and tell him that everyone should have to reveal their teams at the same time.

Ok then i guess i just wont play against a lamp, i will just forfeight without setting the figs on the table. UNLESS i have a team i feel can confidently OBLITERATE L.A.M.P. Since our venue plays 500 points unrestricted all the time... then I will just grab A vet icons sups "ALL" the time.
One feat card would have won you the game... Slippery. With GLs Willpower, you could Running Shot out of soaring, get based by all the Poison, then next turn (before the Poison takes effect) push to automatically break away and get back up to soaring. Indoor, at least you'd kill one of the dogs and maybe get into a position to hide behind your own figures.
One BFC in paritcular is your best friend against lamp... Poor Teamwork. In fact, at my venue people stopped bringing lamp because Poor Teamworks show up so often lamp never even makes it to the finals.
Lots of capable attackers also keep lamp at bay. When you've got 5-6 pieces that put the hurt down, and they are all spread out, lamp is only going to be doing minimal damage to them individually, or seeking out one target.
Mobility with Leap/Climb, Phasing, Vault, TK, etc. hurts lamp because you can keep the tempo while making the Lockjaws chase you down.
To a lesser extent powers like Force Blast, Quake, and TK are good for moving the Poison/Mastermind pieces away from their Taxis allowing you to hit them for direct damge. TK is probably your best bet because you can toss that Joker out in the middle of the board away from Stealth and shoot the dickens out of him.
Barrier can also prevent the Poison pieces from being placed adjacent to your character for a turn. V Lockjaws will seriously impede this strategy though.
How about this for a team that is rough on lamp, but still capable against other teams. I made it out of pieces that are pretty easy to come by:
300 points, restricted.
E Starter Batman - 47
+ Vault - 3
E Emerald Empress - 90
+ Nova Blast - 10
V Super Ape Piotr - 50
E Northstar - 61
+ Alpha Flight - 0
R Mockingbird - 19
R Mockingbird - 19
Lian Harper
Ideal Map - Outdoor "zoo" from DC Icons Starter. This map will give you a chance to occupy one of the small rooftops and deny the Poison pieces adjacency.
BFCs - Poor Teamwork (really!), Rally (highest point pieces on lamp will die last).
Special Object - Laser Turret (for Lian, can shoot the dogs even if based), Teleport Pad (for easy escape from the dogs), Separation Field Generator, Kinetic Absorber (prevents transporter move/attack).
Plan of Attack - Lots of attackers and lots of pain. Not super high attack values, but you should try to attack the dogs with the Mockingbirds. Wait until the dogs are tapped out, or in a position to have their Phasing Outwitted, then jump in the the Mockingbirds and pound down. Don't Nova unless you have too. If you can get into a position to pop just one of the Poison pieces, do it, force a response, and push to Nove NEXT turn after you get swarmed. Remember to use Super Ape Piotr's TK and Force Blast as a way to get the Poison/Mastermind pieces AWAY from the dogs. Then, attack liberally.
People have been giving some great anti-lamp advice. Take it, beat the lamp, and blow rasberrys at the guy. You'll feel better about it than you did about being beaten.
