I have a new theory of hot dice. I have been experimenting with this theory and so far so good.
I take 2 different types of dice (1 could be the 6 side counter dice of Magic cards and the other is a regular dice - same size and everything only different colors) and roll them together. My theory is that because they are different dice types of the same size, they are most likely manufactured differently and so when they hit each other in the table they should produce hopefully the results you want. It takes trial and error which 2nd dice would be the best but after you find that matching 2nd dice that always unbalances the 1st dice you will get hopefully a good roll.

Mark

I have this one pair of dice that have never, and I mean ever, in the two years that I've owned them rolled any than better than 4's. I've kept them just because they look cool. That's it. The only reason.
The stipulation for the event was that if you succeeded in attacking the attack missed. And if you missed the attack then you actually hit. Plus the figures started on their last click and then worked backwards through thier dials as they took damage. Basically everything was backwards. As you would excpect there were a number of Wildfires since his ending values are 6 0 10 0.
Snake eyes were treated as Crit Hits, Boxcars as Crit Misses.
Now everyone should know what is coming right?
Those dice barely rolled 8's. Most of my attacks ended up being 9-11. Had I not had AV's of 0 I would not have hit anything.
So sometimes the dice just know what you need and don't need. Then they choose to roll accordingly.
WizKids GamePlay, "You can only play our game if you buy the new stuff. Those old figures are dirty and obsolete."

They must only roll terrible when you aren't playing me! Every time I play you and you use them, there's a whole lot of 6's that seem to come up!
Those are my Dragon's Fury Dice and yeah they do roll a lot of 6's..Thank Wizkids
In a related story I was playing a kid who had the Sage that has the 0 AV 0 Damage and I told him he should try for a crit and he got it and KOed my Black Lightning
Check out Al's Clix Cave. I didn't make this site and get nothing for putting this in my sig. This site is JUST THAT GOOD.
Yea, I have no problem if someone wants to use my dice..I would just grab another pair....if they wanted those too...I would get another and so on until if went through all my dice and then I would start over....
I like to warm my dice...just not too much or they get sweaty!
There is something to that too.
I have a busty relative that used to warm her husbands dice in her bosom and they would always roll great after she warmed them!!
I had a player make an attack roll, pick up a 6, cradle it carfully, and lay it down still a 6 for blades. Didn't even say anything. It just so appauled me that I wrote him off. I also know how deep a lot of the figures dials are so I called someone else on short clicking when he said he wasn't dead after the charactor took the amount it took. He acted all surprised. The weeks before he was coming up with a bunch os BS rules that I later verified by emailing the wizkids judge. One of the reasons I decided to quit my tournament. I have better things to do with my time than dealing with jerks like these.
Is there anything in the rules against Roman Numeral dice?
As long as the dice in question have all the correct numbers on them and can easily be identified by your opponent there is nothing against using whatever 6-siders you want. Therefore, Roman Numeral dice are a-ok.

I should remember that for when I use my Japanese dice again. The last time was disastrous enough. I had to write out a cheat sheet for the dice to give to my opponents.
"What's that one?"
"It's a four."
"How do you know?!"
"Dude, I'm telling you it's a four. Look at the chart."
"How do I know you didn't just decide that's a four."
"Uhh...it's on the opposite side of the die with the three on it."
"How do I know that's really a three?"
"I'm never running an ethnic theme team again, I swear..."

Now that's funny!!
Do you have an extra set of Japanese dice that you'd be willing to trade/sell?
Haven't had a loaded dice situation come up yet. In sheer humour though, myself and a player went toe to toe two weeks ago and I hammered. I mean kicked the bloody bejesus out of him. I think I hit every roll I tried (including KO'ing Korvac with 2 10's by Forbush Man). Well, this past week we met again. Both of us were using the same dice. He missed once, I hit once and critically missed 3 times. It's all about balance.
Now, our venue did have to threaten a younger player for short-clicking. He would do the turn with both hands over the dial, so you couldn't see how many clicks he turned. I was amazed when Ares on his first click hit someone three times and they hadn't dropped yet.

Then again, cheating is no fun... I used to haveloaded dice for Mageknight, and knowing I'd make my rolls made the game boring. So I threw the dice in the fire to see how they burned... MUCH more fun than cheating
