I already enjoy playing at home more than in tournaments. My wife and I don't generally use Battlefield Conditions (or theme team rules) because it's a friendly game anyway. However, I think we'd definitely try out the event dials, since they add a cool little spin to how you would play, and it's only one thing to keep track of, instead of 2 with the Battlefield Conditions. As far as I'm concerned, this is really how the Battlefield Conditions should have been done in the first place. But maybe that's just me.
As for tournaments, I'd almost like to see venues just say, "OK, we're running the UCWF Event Dial today, build your team with that in mind, and don't forget to bring you dials/cards." Then again, that'll depend on how easy they are to get.
I know my wife and I would have a lot of fun with this one in particular. Hope I pull it!

I don't expect that I'll be using the event dials, but I am not going to knock it for those who'll enjoy the new game mechanic. Where I feel some concern is that this is yet another complex addition which will indubitably result in erratas and FAQs. I wish that WK had spent more time in improving QC before taking the plunge with the event dials. The best thing I can say about them is that they're optional, so that they don't necessarily constrain players to use them. There are my 2 cents' worth.

I liked the write up on the event dials. I was a little worried about what they entail but for casual play I think they will be fine. The big thing is that everyone knows the event dial will be played they can gear their team build around the fun game. I would imagine in the 9 week M&M events they will have a couple of these event dials to try out and get people accustomed to using them. It should be fun and why not try a different approach to the game. As I have been saying since I heard about M&M coming out I can't wait to see the figs!!! I have found that people getting back into the game and the newbies really enjoying what is going on in heroclixs.
Let the good times roll up in the air . Me hulk me smash!!! Looking forward to another hulk that will be iin the front of my team as the crusher!!!
One question - isn't the marquee prize a WW Hulk event dial, as opposed to LE's? Or am I recalling incorrectly? It'd be a bummer if event dials took the place of LE's for prize support.

I think that's supposed to be a Sentinel Sized dial (prize) at the end of the 9 Weeks. Although I could be remembering incorrectly.

It was late last night when I read the article and I was just re-reading it... these are going to be very cool. They'd be fun for a big multi-player game; I can see using these at a tourney if people were expecting it. We've done things like this in the past at one of my venues and they were almost always a blast - really shook things up.
The one thing I would say - it would be ideal if there was a map to go along with the dial. That wrestlng one would be even more impressive if there was a map with an actual ring. Even if the map was just put online and could be printed out, that would be cool. But that's pretty minor - most of those event dials will probably work with any map and won't be quite that specific.
I'm getting more and more psyched for this set with every preview!

Who says that the Mutations and Monsters map won't be some kind of ring or arena. It would make perfect sense if it was (since Panet Hulk is one of the themes of the set anyway, and the BFC for the Pre-Release is The Great Arena).

Oh, it might be. I was just throwing that out there - I can see some of these dials really needing a map to accompany to them to get the full effect is all.
To be honest after the Galactus and Starro events I am looking forward to something a little different.
Now these event dials are a cool idea. I have hundreds of figures and I ma sure you do too. I love scenario's where I can start digging through my collection and pull out characters that I havn't used in a while.
If you only do tournament play - There is no change. A completely optional rule. (amazing how much complaining there is here for a rule that if you don't like YOU NEVER HAVE TO USE IT) but for those of us who like scenarios now we are going to get some new ones.
Yea, I agree I have some scenerios that I built also, and now I'll have more Ideas to spur my imagination.
Event dials.... Bring them on!!

I think this is great, I can easly see keeping these in my card case and doing a random pull in home games just to liven things up. I hope i get them all.

OK, so rather than get a big fig or a colossal fig as a prize for the WW Hulk event, we're basically just getting a big dial. Gotcha.
Somehow, this does not make it more attractive for me to go after that prize. Just not very exciting, from everything else that I have read on the topic. Oh well.

Meh. The concept is interesting, but this example at least doesn't have me too excited. I am glad that both players have to agree, they will be cool if you are playing someone you know you can just have fun with but it won't be forced on you like BFCs.

This always comes up and I can't understand it. I doubt the people on the design team are the same people doing the proofreading in the office or the quality control in the factory.
I agree with you that we need better quality control, but it's really a separate issue. It's like saying Tuttle needs to spend less time giving press conferences and more time practicing his painting, because there was a lot of color bleed in the last set!
