Nova looked down on the maimed and bleeding creature thrashing at his feet in shock. "I... I... didn't mean to hit it that hard!"
His gaze slowly wandered from the pitiful remains of his foe to the brightly glowing weapon still clutched in his hand. "I couldn't control it, couldn't hold it fast. I was trying to hit it with the flat side, but it twisted around. It wanted blood..."
Not far from him Vance was leaning against a large rock while Dagger let her healing light flow over his body, staunching the flow of blood, healing the wound and restoring his vitality. "I know I've seen that thing before, but where?" Me muttered to himself while Dagger gently chided him for not sitting still.
"Whatever this is, I'm no-one's puppet!" Nova shouted, raising the Cosmic Axe over his head. "Let's see it do any more damage from the bottom of the lake!"
"Nova NO!" Night Thrasher shouted from across the park, speeding back towards his team-mates, far too slow to avert the inevitable disaster...
With a mighty heave Nova hurled the glowing weapon in a high arc towards the lake. The axe spun gently head-over-head trailing a stream of cosmic energy behind it, and all the Warriors stood rooted to the spot transfixed as it slowly fell towards the lake.
Suddenly, a massive tremor shook Central Park and a giant pillar of rock and earth burst from the bottom of the lake towering some 15 feet into the air. An arm burst from the seemingly solid bedrock and grasped the axe out of the air and a horrible booming laughter, sounding for all the world like granite boulders grinding together rang out.
"I LIVE! NORIN RADD WAS A FOOL TO THINK ME SO EASILY SLAIN! LET THE COSMOS TREMBLE IN FEAR, TERRAX THE TAMER LIVES AGAIN!"
In a massive blast of cosmic energy the earthen pillar exploded, showering razor-sharp fragments down over the park, and as the dust cleared an imposing figure stood tall, axe in hand, atop the broken remains.
Eyes as cold and uncaring as the icy chill of space fell upon the Warriors and a cruel smile spread across the face of the creature.
"Let no-one say Terrax the Tamer forgets those who aid him. Prepare to receive your just reward!" "
Cool finale. Also, I'd like to apoligize for disappearing there. I had gone on one afternoon last week to take my turn and I saw that someone else had stepped in to play the aliens. At that point, I thought I'd just step aside. I hope that's cool.
Of course, I was gonna push and maim you guys bad, but whatever.
