Seth answered this in the write up, "Fan Arrow" for the smoke cloud and "Acid Arrow" for the barriers. I like it and cannot wait to use it.
Bah...I read the write up and the justification but you can give him a Nuclear Warhead arrow and justify Pulse Wave then.
Plus if hes attacking the barrier with multiple acid arrows, 3 to be exact THEN gets to make an additional attack it seems excessive...at least for the points. Giving him an action token to tear down barriers wouldve been cool enough and his partners could attack.
I like the power, dont get me wrong. And if its fairly justifiable fine...I dont like that fact that its on Speedy and that its so cheap. I dont like the Teen Titans and I like the LOSH even less, but dang theyre good and its annoying. I think this power should be on a more expensive powerful character.
Nevertheless, its useful and begging for a mod.
EDIT: And no I dont use Barrier as my team gimic and that SUB idea / tactic is horrible so Im glad this is available for it now.
I don't follow. Fly-by was ruled exactly the way I understood it. I may have hoped it would be ruled the other way, but I don't see why it would be.
Well, that's you. I can think of at least one judge of long standing and high reputation, known to most on this site, who didn't interpret it as it was ruled and so didn't call for the character to have to roll for breakaway following the attack.
"...can use Charge, and he can continue to use the rest of his halved movement (if any remains) after making the attack" did not even suggest to many of us that rolling for breakaway would be required in the middle of this. I understand the interpretation - movement to get away from an opposing piece if one lacks a power granting automatic breakaway requires a breakaway roll, and since it didn't say anything to the contrary the base rules applied to this, too - but many felt that it was misleading seemingly coming back in as it does in the middle of what was being viewed overall as a single action of move, attack and move.
All that said, I'm fine (not that anyone cares) with the reading that's being given to Trick Arrows. I came upon the new piece well after lunch while still at work and dove into a reaction perhaps a bit more quickly than I should have, forgetting that as this is a messageboard I would be pounced on by at least one jerk (certainly not referring to you) and ridiculed if I was in any way in error. What's being seen as the correct reading (and probably is) seemed suspiciously powerful, especially for the points as I look back on the Green Arrows in Justice League.
YES! Original Speedy! And a very useful one at that! Now if they just give me original Green Arrow, the rest of the Fearsome Five, and the rest of the Freedom Fighters (and maybe a Bat enemy or two) it will be the perfect set!
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash
Because many of the earlier ones (Superboy, Troia, Beast Boy) were so bad?

Okay, another reason I'm thrilled that these pieces are commons: Because I am definitely taking my extra Speedy and swapping in a Mia sculpt for a more modern Titans team.
I don't understand the significance of adding "(removing one at a time)" Can anybody explain?
Maybe it has to do with Line of Sight. If they are all in one row and each barrier piece is one in front of the other (if you get what I'm trying to say).
Roy = R
Barrier Token = B
[R][b][b][b]
In a scenario like this, Roy only has LOF to the first Barrier token.

my question is this....if Speedy doesn't have a legal target after the barriers are removed, can he remove the barriers in the first place? say there are no targets within his 8 range because he removed barriers 12 away.
i posted this on another thread but haven't gotten any replies so.....

Shouldn't be a problem. It says that he MAY make an attack after the barriers are removed, doesn't say he must.
Nice figure, great sp, ok sculpt, real cheap. That about sums him up.

This is a tricky one.
Intuitively, it doesn't seem that you need to, as the power is worded "after which he can make a ranged combat attack." That would seem to imply an option. This power requires a ranged combat action, so I went to the rulebook to see if that would help clarify.

From the above, it looks like you would need to be able to make an attack. The word "always" is pretty unambiguous. Can anyone think of a counter-example, where you give a character a close/range combat action but don't make an attack?
There was a Robocop III you know (so don't be racist)
