I don't necessarily see him as evil (I don't think I've specifically referred to him as evil once on this thread), but I definitely consider him a villain. One doesn't have to be evil to be a villain, and one can be a villain without being evil.
Well, to some, the Red Skull would be a good guy. It's perspective. Course, only a nazi would like the Red Skull. Some referances to the Living Tri-Judge are that he's a villian. Demons don't like him. Like S'ym, in a What If? story about Inferno. He was afraid of the "dreaded" Tri-Judge.
All I'm saying is, Galactus is not a villian in my opinion. He's not a hero, either, nor even an "anti-Hero", like, say, Namor or The Punisher. But, unlike those guys, he is a force of nature.
Wolverine could also be seen as a villian, as could even Captain America. It's all about perspective.

Not really. You should see some of the words tossed about in the various Sentry threads. It gets rather harsh in a few of those.
Mr_JTR, look at it this way: Galactus may not be a hero, villain, anti-hero, or whatever, but there's no denying that he is almost always portrayed as an antagonist (or antagonistic force, if we compare him to nature like you did). I looked up villain, and one of the definitions is "a dramatic or fictional character who is typically at odds with the hero." Galactus fits that bill.
None of this is about capability, it's about history in the comics and portrayal in stories. Galactus is well known, and fits the lable of villain, so it stands to reason that he's appearing on lists.
I still say that Stiltman is the most dangerous villain of Marvel comics. I mean, he's really tall! Really tall. Is Ego the Living Planet tall? No. He's just fat.

exactly its all perspective... i have mine..jawa has his... and you have yours.. why judge and critisize over soemthign that is asn opinion based question?...It just seems to me you are on a crusade..making up for something... but I personaly see anyone threating your life style and or home as a villan... and Galactus fits that profile...

That height of his didn't stop the Punisher from hitting him in the family jewels with a missile.
1.Dr. Doom (there is no one else in Marvel that comes even in my mind)
2.Magneto
3.Baron Helmut Zemo (He is more of Cap's arch-enemy that Red Skull when you think about it.)
4.Red Skull
5.Venom (20 yrs old)
6.Green Goblin
7.Loki
8.Apocolypse (See Venom)
9.Mr. Sinister
10.Galactus
3.Baron Zemo (He is more of Cap's arch-enemy that Red Skull when you think about it.)
Well, depends on which Zemo, and if you count Tony Stark as an enemy of Cap. If it's Zemo jr, of T-Bolts fame, I wouldn't have him on the 10 list. Were his Daddy to be counted, then he'd be up there. But, if you don't count him, Stark would make the list.
And I still say Galactus shouldn't be there.
1 - Doctor Doom (has pretty much fought EVERYONE, right?)
2 - Red Skull (also the oldest "Marvel" villan - 1940's - Lee/Kirby)
3 - Magneto (has gotten a LOT more powerful since 1960's)
4 - Green Goblin (Yup. )
5 - Loki (He's the frickin God of Evil - of course!)
6 - Ultron (tough villian)
7 - Mephisto (see Loki - it's the devil. Gotta have him)
8 - Kang (if you figure he's also Doom/Rama Tut/etc., etc.)
9 - Kingpin - (Spidey/DD)
10 - Thanos - now that's a villian -sometimes shows some nobility but always working the angles
other honorable mentions - Red Ghost, Frightful Four, Masters of Evil, Sinister Six (hey Doc Ock could possibly bump Kingpin but, nah!), Baron Mordo, Dormmamu.
I think a classic villian is one who has a) passed test of time - been around over 25 years ("classic" does mean that, or is it 30 years?) b) has effected more than one hero (like I said Dr Doom, it's like you are not an official Marvel hero unless you've tangled with Doom and the Hulk) and c) had some of those "classic" moments - when you think about the major stroylines that have shaped the Marvel Universe - these are ones who did that.
I don't care what you have to say, it makes no difference anyway, whatever it is, I'm against it!
So you're looking for the nastiest team of villains for our next game, fenway? Here ya go...
Constrictor
Anaconda
Hobgoblin
Whirlwind
Mr. Hyde
Controller
Blob
Toad
Typhoid Mary
Rhino
Seriously though, here's my real list.
Dr. Doom
Magneto
Kang
Thanos
Green Goblin
Red Skull
Dark Phoenix (nobody else thought of this one yet?)
Dormammu
Loki
Ultron
Although it really depends on the criteria you use. Most interesting stories? Biggest threats on their own? Squaring off against most heroes? It's a mixed bag I guess.
1. Dr. Doom
2. Thanos
3. Apocalypse
4. Iron Man
5. Mr. Sinister
6. Loki
7. Magneto
8. Red Skull
9. Green Goblin
10. Cassandra Nova
Yes, I'm serious about Iron Man. He's to Marvel what Ozymandias was to Watchmen.
Superman: "One of these days, Lois....POW!!! Right to the Marvel Universe!"
