Has anyone gotten their maps?

I now know what it feels like to be Frankenstien's Monster.

Before everyone gets out their torches and we have to make a run for the windmill, let me fill you in on some facts.

The maps have finally arrived and are being laminated as I type this. We will be shipping them on the 23rd in waves. By the 26th all pre-ordered maps should be out for delivery.

22 Days past the original ship date. We are truly sorry for the delay and are glad most of you have hung in there.

If I were you guys I'd be upset too. I know how it feels. I just waited 7 weeks to get my Laptop returned to me from Circuit City...still broken...had to get it shipped back out to be fixed...got it back 2 weeks later...still broken. Finally they bit the bullet and fixed it in house.

I don't want to give you guys any excuses to why these are shipping out so late, but I will give you the details.

This being the first time going out and doing this we knew there would be some hiccups, we just didn't foresee them being this bad.

We had some problems with the printing company we had chosen. Every time we "fixed" what was wrong with the format of the map it took 1-2 days for them to get back to us with whether is was ok to print. Three of those times it wasn't. We had a 10 day turn around for printing. We got the file to the printer on the 15th of August. After a few changes to the format of the file it finally went into printing on about the 24th. There it sat until about the 8th when it finally said processing and then shipping. Why it sat for so long, I'm not sure...some of that could have been Memorial Day. We were under the assumption that they would be arriving by the 14th. We made the announcement and waited. We finally got the maps in the mail on the 17th and began the laminating process.

Now onto the Laminator.
Laminator...decided to break down and ruin about 14 maps right off the bat. Laminator is now fixed and maps are being laminated.

Maps will be shipping in waves starting on the 23rd and the final wave for pre-orders should be complete and mailed by the 26th.

We greatly apologize that this process has taken way longer than expected. Unfortunately diving into something you have never tried is going to have a few growing pains. We totally know what to expect from our Printers now and all future printed maps will be already printed and ready to ship when we take orders.

On a good note...everyone who pre-ordered will be getting a link in their email soon which will offer them a free downloadable map from Grid Reality once the Download part of that site launches by the end of the month (Hopefully)...another one of our growing pains. You can expect great things from Grid Reality within the next month. Thanks for all your support!

I'm in no rush - here's one poster who's happy to wait and understands fully how obstacles can appear out of nowhere. My new website (which I won't link to, don't ask) was supposed to be up and running back in May!

Is that a WK truck that flattened the poor mail man? WK hates GridReality maps!!

I want new maps...how do I get one?

How are the maps being shipped? USPS? UPS? FedEx?
