Personally, I think that they should go back to using the lower grade newsprint-type paper. It's cheaper. And with several newspapers folding, there's an excess of stock. It's when the comicbook companies stopped using it in the early 90's, that is when comicbook prices started to climb up big time.
that is a very viable idea. because with all the books I get (48) a month its burning a nuclear whole in my wallet, & my job is not that radiation proof!
& don't you hate it when you buy your comics at cover price (with LCS discount) & then a month later you can pick up the same comic for a buck @ a convention or flea market!

At some point (around the time Morrison started on JLA) I decided I wouldn't buy that many new books and instead look for them in the $0.25 bins.
I ended up getting many series that way: a year-or-so behind the times, but much cheaper. If you don't have $0.25 bins or the desire to wade through them, most everything from Marvel/DC ends up being collected, and so you can either buy it in TPB at a reduced price or borrow it from a local library.

that cool & stuff but there just certain titles I have to get that monthly fix out of, like Green lantern, New Avengers
other I can wait on (like Hulk)
I was a huge marvel fan (let's say about a year ago), but then I realized they milk any story for whatever they can get out of it. I find myself leaning a lot towards DC now even though I still get 24 Marvel Titles a month & only 15 DC if it come down to picking up only a few I will get my DC first!
