The Dark Knight Returns
Crisis on Infinite Earths-maxi series
Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?
All-Star Superman-maxi series
Kingdom Come
I wanna fit in Golden Age, Killing Joke, the Batman run where the Joker had those Joker-fish, Marshall Rogers and Terry Austin did the art, maybe O'Neil wrote(can't remember off-hand) and several others, but its only 5 so...
1. Crisis On Infinite Earths by by Marv Wolfman and George Perez
2. The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller
3. Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons
4. Kingdom Come by Alex Ross and Mark Waid
5. The Golden Age by James Robinson and Paul Smith
1. All-Star Superman
2. Adam Strange: Planet Heist
3. JSA: Black Reign
4. JSA: Liberty Files
5. Batman - there are actually a few, Long Halloween, Year One, and the Dark Knight
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
1. The New Frontier
Fantastic Re-Telling of the JLA/DC universe, with spot on characterizations 2. Crisis on infinite Earths
The best Event book. It still shapes the DC universe 3. Batman Year 1
The Reason I like batman. Batman to me doesn't make sense fighting the likes of Darksied. To me this is Batman. 4. Kingdom Come
Dc characters are more like Gods then men and this Series Highlights that and gives each character a shining example of that. 5. Green Lantern/Green Arrow Denny O’Neil, Neal Adams
If you haven't read these I HIGHLY recommend them.
There were a few books on here that surprised me and there is so much Batman on these lists!!! I also find that it's way harder to narrow it down to just 5 DC stories as opposed to 5 Marvel Stories.
Check out my Haves/Wants, all my Haves are for trade!
I am surprised that the the Titans' Judas Contract did not get more votes. First appearance of Nightwing, the utter breakdown of Terra, the unbelievble art from Perez...
Every relationship is fundamentally a power struggle, and the individual in power is whoever likes the other person less.
-Chuck Klosterman, "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs"
Green Arrow: Quiver (My favourite character is brought back!)
Batman: Hush
Identity Crisis
Birds of Prey: Sensei and Student
Day of Vengeance or Villains United...I switch back and forth on which one is better.
Mal: Seems we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us?
Zoe: Big darn heroes, sir!
Mal: Ain't we just?

I'd rate highty the first 10-20 issues of that run, but I actually though Judas Contract was anticlimactic compared to the first year of the series.
Really? I just loved the way Perez was able to illustrate the breakdown of Terra's psyche during those four books.
Every relationship is fundamentally a power struggle, and the individual in power is whoever likes the other person less.

I think that might have a lot to do with just how many truly great comics DC has put out. Top 5 is a pretty exclusive club.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
