Though I had thought Northstar or Aurora were able to use their TA to use HSS as a free action for awhile.
They were. Had Jeanne-Marie Beaubier in a 300 point double TK yo-yo team doing exactly that (TK Ult Hawkeye, TK Jeanne, shoot with Hawkeye, free move pick up Hawkeye and attack with Jeanne, run Jeanne back to starting area).
At the same time, range wasn't halved yet. Both changes pretty much took the wind out of the sails of that team, probably for the best.
I'm a little surprised to see that Dawnstar didn't even get mentioned.
HSS with Wildcard and Willpower and team attack boost, at a cheap cost. About the only figure since they went to 5 figure boosters that has repeatedly tempted me to break the local highlander rule. A squirrel pack of these would just be nuts.

Just to show a cheesy player how not-fun it is to play against cheesy teams, I played against him with three Dawnstars and, I think, four or five Kid Flashes on the outdoor side of the LoSH map. He was not happy.
So, what you are saying is this is really a list of pieces that are predominately hss..... not necessarily those figs that have hss and other stuff.... so shouldn't Skrull Ms Marvel also be taken off the list since she has other abilities too? (i'm just playing devils advocate but i think this is a valid point.)
I love these post-article debates, so no one worry that you're being cruel.
Skrull Ms. Marvel made the list because she's nothing without that HSS. There are lots of folks that could have made the list that are very similar in style to her. But of all those, Ms. Marvel is one of the most reliant on the HSS to work. Sure, Outwit is nice, but you could live without it. And yes, Stealth is indispensable, but for all two-power combo figs, you need to pick which is the predominant ability, and in this case, I had to go with her HSS.
My lists never include everyone who could possibly qualify; I merely want to get people thinking about the basic PAC powers, and hopefully send new players (or old players who are caught up in the modern game) to old figures to see who's still got what it takes. To that end, all these post-article debates only further that agenda.
Dawnstar could have made the list, but I think of her attack boost to be her main contribution, not her own attacking; she'd almost make Perplex, but doesn't technically have it, and therefore at the end of the day doesn't really fit any of the PAC articles.

The Wildcard that is the shining ability for the cost. Even the Willpower is better than the attack boost, as the synergy with HSS is so incredibly good (no worries about pushing off the HSS click, a common problem with cheap HSS figures). Do as so many others have done, team her up with a Batman team figure, and she's balls nasty.
You guys are way too hard on saturn flight. I love these articles. Wiz Kidz never really gave us a chance to analyze a fig based strictly on a single power. I find these to be very interesting and helpful in analyzing both point cost and power effectiveness. Now, some of the post article comments seem to be bothered by the fact that you didn't list EVERY SINGLE FIGURE WITH THE POWER. It's a sampling of pieces from different price ranges, not a complete list. I can go on the units and do a search based on a single ability if that's all I wanted. Once again, TBTAAWTD are always fun and helpful. Keep it up.
But I too want to bring up possibly one of my favorite figures with HSS and bookoo damage, and that is the KC Shazam.
I have seen games where he took out and taken off the board the original KC Superman. He is just great with his I think 12 or 13 movement on his first click with 5 damage. I know you get him off of his Imperviuos clix and he tends to drop pretty fast. But over all just a HSS beat stick.
And still I am waiting for a new Desaad figure.....where is the Desaad love?
