Yeah, when you make Normie go "WHAT THE $?!?!?%!%?!%?!%", it's not a good thing.
I suspect Siege is going to evolve into taking the Sentry down. At least I hope so.
Know what's really kind-of interesting about the whole "Sentry as the main bad guy" thing we've been seeing?
Remember how basically he was getting shoved down our throat as "a better take on Superman"? Not to mention the whole "Marvel's Greatest Hero Retcon"? They did massive PR spin trying to convince us if we like "The Other Guy" then we should looooove the Sentry.
Folks didn't go for it (certain exceptions noted). We were annoyed by him, the character was used erratically and without direction and, in the end, we're thrilled he's about to get pulverized by The True Avengers (you know it's not going to be just Thor but the others as well - at least the Big Three).
Yet, I wouldn't be surprised that if asked about this Quesadilla would inform us, "That was the plan all along. We wanted to show people how uninteresting a man with that much power is and blah blah blah."
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

Which always makes me laugh as Thor, Thanos, Silver Surfer, Hyperion, etc are all just as rediculously powerful (heck, at one point even more so then a modern Superman, as they had to compete with Pre Crisis Superman).
You really have to be a 'Marvel Zombie' to buy the 'DC is massively overpowered but we're totally realistic' schloc.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
Plus, lately, because of "Assault" it's also had Hank Pym and Agents of Atlas. It was like a cornucopia for me.
WORD!
"Assault" has a great cast!

I love The Sentry...it's how he's been handled that sucks...I also like Superboy Prime...but everytime we're about to get whatever it is that's going down with Sentry resolved or figured out...the "new" writer coming in or "event" that is coming up or in throws it all out of whack...it sucks they have mishandled this character so....
At first, Sentry was pretty much the pre-Crisis Superman(the power of a million exploding suns). Now, with the new biblical implications that Bendis had decided to add in, Sentry seems to be more like the Spectre or Eclipso. And again, Iron Man wanted the Hulk shot into space because he was SOOOOOOO dangerous and yet, let's have Sentry on our team and never try to reprimand him for anything! Oh look! The Hulk has come back to enslave us. Help us Sentry. Sentry goes nuts and destroys more of New York than The Hulk and is happy about it. The Hulk has to beat him down to save everyone. Yeah, that's why Tony Stark's a futurist. He sees things that are gonna happen that other people don't. What an ironclad d-bag!!
Superman: "One of these days, Lois....POW!!! Right to the Marvel Universe!"
so....where's NFL Superpro when you need him? I'm sure his near indestructible football uniform would offer enough protection when he steps up against Sentry.
I can't believe that people care enough to complain about the Sentry in a universe that still has Rulk.
It's like complaining that your yard is a mess after your house has burned to the ground.
Perhaps it's because Rulk is a Loeb monstrosity and at this point most people avoid the Loeb written Hulk. Not to mention the fact that Rulk isn't featured on Marvel's premiere hero team The Avengers and has been saturated into the 616 Marvel Universe since it began and now has some biblical implications to his origin. If in the upcoming Heroic Age, Captain America decides to add Rulk to the Avengers and we find out that his original form is Lucifer Morningstar, the first angel and the Intellingencia made a deal with him for ultimate power if they could use him in their experiments then, I'm pretty sure people will talk about him as much or more than the Sentry.
Superman: "One of these days, Lois....POW!!! Right to the Marvel Universe!"
Ok here is a quick run down on what happened
[spoiler]
- Ares starts fighting Balder. Balder asks him why he is fighting his brothers.
Because he isn't asgardian, even less their brother and he enjoyed fighting Asgard before?
I don't get why Ares has changed side.Hopefully ,we'll know it was a skrull LMD clone from an alternate dimension with false memories implanted by Mr Sinister.
i love bendis and i love this series! ares won't stay dead. this is actually good. i think his son will find out, go after bob, make him go crazy and phobos will die. this is a good thing because in secret warriors ares just told his son that he needed to die and be reborn to unlock his TRUE power!
i also like how the showed what the sentry REALLY is in dark avengers. norman really has it coming to him and i hope he dies and STAYS dead!this whole dark reign event is awesome in my book! now if we can get clix to represent it, i'd be even happier. we have two version of he sentry. now all we need is the sentry/void! no filler ALL KILLER! i could also go for the dark avengers, secret warriors, cap-bucky, maria hill(she'd be alot like agent brand),doom in destroyer armor, and a new steve rodgers!! i know we just got one, but he goes down as soon as you base him. anyone with one damage can hurt him, and thats just not right. i usually don't like the same figure set, after set, but i'd allow it this time!
@antonio.clark.art is my instagram.take a look and tell me what you think....be blessed!!!

Well, you know, technically that WAS what the first mini-series was all about. Sentry is so powerful he needs an equally powerful villain to fight, things keep escalating and all the other heroes start looking less relevant.
It's also important to note that the original mini-series also concluded by taking Sentry off the table to prove that point, and bringing him back at all was a contradiction to begin with. So yeah, there's no real defense unless they had brought him back with an actual purpose. I'm not reading Siege, but it doesn't sound like they have.

The defense is that Bendis liked the character so much, he had to bring him into the mainstream so he could use him.
That's not the only time he's done that.
