During the Coming of Galactus final, I used E Jubilee (sealed event). I expected nothing, but she ended up winning me the event, putting the final shot on my opponent's last piece (Stardust). It was my last action of the game ("last actions" had been called, in other words), and I think I was rolling for an 11 or Crit to hit. It was awesome, even though I can't stand the comic book character (and don't at all respect her clix).
Back when Supernova was still fairly new R Jubilee got the KO shot on V Drax the Destroyer. Granted she didn't take him from the first click on down, but I'll take the victory points anyway :-D
Unleashed, The General.
Not a really terrible piece, but considering his cost, low defense and the 5 clix of regen that offer no protection for him, even with autoregen, this guy by himself is usually eaten alive pretty quick.
However, using an elaborate plan, I was able to, once, make him work. 300 point game, FF Sue Storm at 49 points with alternate FF TA for 0 pts, E Umbra at 56 points, The General at 176 points with auto regen at 12 for 293 points.
Umbra would copy the alternate FF TA, giving her a 19 defense from Sue, who is hiding somewhere in the corner of the map, as far away from everything as possible. Umbra uses defend to grant The General a worthwhile def-v, act as a taxi and mobile blocking terrain. This way, the General was less vulnerable, a 20 defense when in hindering with imperv, and even as he invariably got hit, he still has a high defense when he hits his regen. If the other team hunts down Sue, then I've still got that starting 17 def-v from Umbra to help out the General. Now, this was all part of a huge plan just to make The General useful, but it essentially makes him a 300 pt figure. Ok, he's not great, and like this he's still way over cost, but he's at least playable.

Heatwave. Brilliant anti-camping piece. His EE gets rid of pogs, and his rce gets super useful for taking down the support pieces that are tying you up or interfering.
the hood. just throw him in to tie up and hope super senses works.
agents of atlas. i know ive said it a million times but they just work so well together.
logan with vamperism and auto regen . used him a couple of nights ago and he took down hot captain america and almost took down si doom by two clix. new cheese for me....
Metal Men are awesome. If you aren't afraid to actually *fight* and still play CLix like it was in the alpha-strike days, you'd never figure out how to win with them.
Ive acutally went 2-1 w/ the metal men b4. i even went highlander w/ them (course this was b4 the 10% rule) and the most amazin thing i saw was the metal men take down the new galatus.

That's amazing.
I was them go 3-0 at a 400 point floor tourney, using an extra Iron, and no feats.
I am very impressed with some people in this thread... others less so.
Other than Charcoal, I don't think I've really rated. I did extremely well in a game with Deadman once, but then got smacked down elsewhere. Phanton Stranger worked or me on a 1500 point satellite JLA team, but that's not a major part of my force. And my other picks were small fractions of my build as well.
The two for me are the Wrecker (M&M) and Man-Thing.
I played the Wrecking Crew in a 800pt game. The Wrecker was the best of the group. He never fell until the last round when I faces an Anti-Monitor. I was doing good until he started healing.
I used Vet Man-Thing in a 500pt Halloween game. People ignored him thinking he wasn't a threat. He made people sorry for doing that.
Trickster & Pied Piper have performed admirably for me. They were key to taking down Supergirl (CR) in one event, and Poison + Super Senses wrecked a Batman team. They duo was surrounded by Batgirl (CR), Robin (AA, methinks), and Nightwing (CR). The Bat-Fam couldn't land any hits in the beginning, and Poison wrecks figs without damage reducers. Ultimately, though, T&PP were beaten into submission. However, they did manage to last three or four turns which led to a lot of Poison damage (overall).
Almost any of the Mr. Fantastics (or the rest of his loser crew), especially the 100 point starter. For as bumbling as he is, when a Latverian strategist is at the helm, good things will happen.
