Agreed; Brightest Day has an "action pack" sort of feel to me.
Here's hoping the DC 75th Anniversary set is a full 60 figure set.

Okay, now that the 'gasm has subsided (and thanks for the date correction) I am very disturbed at only ONE Marvel release all year.
I'm a Marvel only kinda guy and while the thought of a Spider-man based set (full 60 piece set!) is all kinds of awesome, I am saddened that I only get one Marvel release for 2010.
Why the lack of Marvel love alla sudden? I thought Marvel sets typically outsell DC sets.
May all your hits be crits!
On the whole, human beings want to be good — but not too good, and not quite all the time. - George Orwell
I am a little disappointed over Nekron and Black Hand being the chase figures for this set (as I am a huge Lantern fan and I think Elseworld and obscure characters should be chase figures, not characters that are a HUGE part of a story).
I'd also like to know if we are actually getting some of the different Lantern Corps members at some point (ROYGBIV) not counting the 5 second wonders included in the starter set. We have had 2 amazing Green Lantern stories that don't seem to be getting a lot of attention in clix yet or even any Promotions to strum up excitement for the game (you know the War of Light and Blackest Night is HUGE right now so if there were any Lanterns in B&tB I'd be promoting them to fans). I really don't want to have to wait till they are irrelevant to get Larfleez and Atrocitus or any of the others. Just a minor squabble.
VERY EXCITED about Brightest Day (hopefully this collector's set features the NEW Guardians in it)
excited about Web of Spider-Man!!!
A DC 75th Anniversary is AWESOME too!!!!! I cannot wait for this!!!!
Good news all around!! Now lets see some spoiled dials!!
I'm going to hit him really, really hard with a big green boxing glove............ I'm kidding. - Hal Jordan
What would likely be in a DC 75th anniversary set? The big three probably but what else? Would they attempt to represent each decade like the Marvel set was supposed to do?
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.

If I had to guess I'd say it's a combination of things. First off Marvel had the only release last year and it was late last year. Second, Blackest Night is the big thing right now. Marvel has what going on? Siege? And that involves many figures that were made in Hammer of Thor. Plus assuming the Anniversary set is a full set, we're really only talking 2 DC sets to one Marvel set. The rest is action packs and such that will probably draw from whatever is currently "hot" in the comics. These are just my guesses but I wouldn't get too worked up about it. I imagine it will all even out.

Weird to see a DC anniversary set. I though prior to the One Year Off that WizKids had announced it was going to do a Marvel 70th anniversary set. Either way, I'm stoked!

Perhaps the new WK fiscal year starts in November to correspond with the release of HoT? That way there would be two Marvel sets, just not in the calendar year? I dunno.
*shrugs*
Marvel fans have gotten the lion's share of sets to date, this isn't worth getting too upset (and I'm not saying you are) over IMO.

I don't see this as a lack of anything really, "Marvel-love" or otherwise. Nor do I think its ever been conclusivley proven who outsells who really.
Regardless, more sets planned means greater longevity for the brand! Yippee!

Looking forward to the pictures. Not a huge fan of chase figures anyway, but this just cinches my plan to get my BaTB figures on the secondary market. I'm not overly interested in duos in general and I really don't need either of those chase figures. It sucks for the many people who are loving the storyline and would want those figures though.
Well I hope that you get one of them out of your brick man.
And yea wtf does fiddly bits mean hahahaha.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
You know what though? The chase news is far outweighed by the good news. The sets on tap for this year sound awesome, Spider-man and tons of DC? Yes please!

Because 2011 will be all about Marvel. Just wait and see.
Lol True, so what about a Timely/marvel 70th anniversary set?
More like Timely/Atlas/Marvel 70th Anniversary set...and that's just too much to print on the box...how would we even anagram that, TAM70AS?
No, no, best to wait until Marvel actually turns 70 I say. At least 50 isn't too far off.
