Before this was up I created an awesome team based on checkmate knight white that is able to dish out 15 damage every other turn (starting 2nd turn). I did put a talia on the team to outwit stealth but that is the only reason for her.
Give me Zoo Crew or give me Death
Then again feel free to ignore me (like people usually do )

Personally, I'd take both. I prefer Exploit Weakness/Psychic Blast on my big guns, with an array of outwitters and perplexers in cheap support. Enhancement is something I love to have on a sniper-team, even more than perplex, but it occurs so rarely that it usually isn't available for me (I mostly play themes).
EW/PB allow my big guns to get through damage reducers, letting them do what needs doing and freeing up outwit for use defensively. I'd much rather use outwit to fry my opponent's ability to attack me than to take out his damage reducers.
But mostly, I agree with the guy who said Probability Control is the best power in the game. The Dice Gods are capricious and even if they curse you once, with the proper sacrifice they can be placated into giving you something better. I recommend sacrificing virgin chess pieces, since the Dice Gods hate games that don't have any luck in them.
It's also more useful if you have it on a figure with Charge or Running Shot who can't see the target at the start of the action. A figure who Charges around a wall can Exploit Weakness a target that they wouldn't have been able to Outwit for lack of line-of-sight.
First person in 3 pages that actually hit on what I was going to say. You can't perform a range swing with outwit. If you are outside 10 and perform a running shot with the outwit character, you're going to deal with the target's armor intact. With psychic blast it becomes a matter of position, and range. The same goes with exploit weakness. Generally speaking, PB and EW are better options for bypassing armor, so that you can save your outwit for the end of turn where you may want to negate hypersonic so the target can't run away, for example.

actually, i have made VERY successful teams based on Enhancement and or Exploit, and or Psyblast....
a new fun team: Bat-Arrow (or green Bat, whichever u prefer) and gotham pd's ya, Sharpshooter is awesome...
an older one i enjoyed: Hitman (cuz he has psyblast) gotham pds and a ultimates ally (Black widow worked, cuz she has psyblast)
exploit weakness? yes please! any way i can get through someone's defense i am going to take it, if i can save my outwit, i'm going to save it.
exploit and charge is one of my favorite combos out there. (throw on Super strength, and i still dont need perplex)
if i can go out and BASE a uber range threat AND get some damage to stick in there to top it off, i'm more than happy (for example, darkseid is not so tough when based by Powerman and Iron Fist, and a punch to the junk)
i worry MORE about stupid senses.... (i always outwit that) and rarely care about imperv because i always have penetrating damage on my team somewhere... (or try to at least)

Seriously, outwit ruins defensive abilities. Turns Thor into a high-defense thug. It's hard to be Superman when your impervious gets outwitted from 10 squares away.

what he was sayin is that you cant outwit a person if they are stealthed, protected from barrier, or in good position (a position that wont let you be outwitted)
sure outwit ruins defensive abilities, it ruins all abilities.... that's WHAT IT IS MADE FOR!!!!
and to the last part....
if you leave your thor in place to be outwitted, you deserve it.
and supeman usually has high speed/high range, why cant he respond with an attack.... or not being put in the way?
look, your stuff is gonna be outwitted, fact of clix, adapt your stradegy when you make your team... dont be so narrow minded as to say "outwit is too powerful" maybe it's YOU that is too weak (in stradegy)

The powers are built for accuracy of the characters, not necessarily for being the best at what they do. Iron Fist is a good martial artist, but he's not a super genius. Hence he knows how to get around defenses in a close combat situation, but not how to build a device to neutralize someone's laser eyes or any other power.

Wow, I can't believe I just sat here and read all this. I should have stopped at OP's post, but I wanted to see how much backlash he would get, and it's a lot. Obviously the concept of the game has evaded him.
I have won plenty a tournament with no HSS, outwit or perplex on my team. Are they good abilities? Of course, but they aren't game breakers. Any good team can get around these paultry obsticles with good positioning and planning.
I may have at one time believed perplex to be the catalyst to any team I made. Lately, I've been finding myself using a good amount of enhancement instead.
