Depends on what you are looking for...mostly all of us have and play or will play l4d2 if you are looking to play online with us...I would probably get Modern Warfare 2 over World at War honestly if you are looking for online play...the story mode for it is sort of short, like 6 hours long but thre is also those special op missions to do as well....though Black Ops is supposed to be out in a couple months...Borderlands is another big online game that is pretty fun though I really haven't seen anyone playing it in awhile.

MW2 detracted from what CoD was originally supposed to be. Instead of WW2, it became modern era, and that kinda killed it for me. That's why I was thinking World at War, since its WW2.

I ended up deciding on Borderlands. I've played it before on PS3 at my friend's house. Terrific game.

I'm surprised that Live costs 70 bucks up here. I heard that it was 50, but apparently its 67.99+tax at Gamestop. Anyone know where I could get a deal on it? I'd like to start playing online with you guys.

Apparently, leaving for a drink, then finishing typing is a long time. Well, have fun with Borderlands. It's best with Co-op because playing by yourself is relatively boring.

Yea, it usually seems to alternate between Best Buy, Wal Mart, and Target from what I see...gamestop rarely puts cards like that on sale...just found a 12 month one online for 42.21 with shipping :-/

We play alot of Ground War, so if you can get to points, and kill some people on the way, that's all I ask. Hell, if you take down killstreaks, you'll be a hero. We've been losing alot of games recently because randoms dislike winning. In TDM, they let AC130s/Chopper Gunners go free. I usually have to suicide my dude and shoot the damn things down. It wouldn't be so bad if randoms didn't enjoy getting themselves killed. In domination, usually it's my team (me and 2 others) that seem to get all the points. Randoms rarely try because they are awful little creatures. Besides, if you go for points in Domination, you are bound to get kills with the right reflexes. (Moral of the story- give me a shout out, and I'll invite you ASAP).

And to KO Bossy, how come you don't like Modern Warfare? They had to transition because the WWII shooter market was way over-saturated. Unless the change of time period was that detrimental to your gameplay.

Tonight I played some Borderlands, which was fun, and I also started Bioshock. I'm not that far into it, but so far, its AWESOME. The gameplay is terrific and I love the setting.

@VisibleNinja I personally felt that Call of Duty should have remained dedicated to the WW2 Era, like Medal of Honor or Wolfenstein. You said that the game was over-saturated with WW2 games, but I feel that its already way, WAY over-saturated with modern era FPS. Of course, many of them are awesome (Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, Fallout, etc), but considering how many of those games that there are, I wished that CoD had stayed WW2 centric instead of, what I feel was, caving in and modernizing it. Part of what I loved about the series was the time period. Now the game itself may be stellar, and I'll at least check it out and see if I'd like it, but to me it will always sort of feel that the CoD franchise kinda copped out when the made MW and MW2. That's also the reason why I wanted to check out World at War, since they went back to WW2 in that one.

Gamestop still has that sale on next Monday and the Monday after that. Its gonna be tough deciding what I want to get. I bought Borderlands because its fun on and offline, but also because you can use your character for multiplayer/co-op as well as single player. Games like MW2, World at War and Left 4 Dead sound great, but the real fun seems to be online, and until I figure out when I plan on getting my Live set up, it doesn't make much sense to pick them up. They had Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Lost Planet for sale, and I've heard good things about those. Dragon Age comes highly recommend from Mal. Is it any good online, or mainly single player?

I'm gonna wait until the prices from for Transformers: War for Cybertron, Bioshock 2 and Fallout 3. I'd rather not pay 60+ bucks right now for one game when I can get 2 for that price.
