Love this figure, Love Nightcrawler....I hate the costume..WTF were you thinking ben..should of pick his classic red and black costume...i hate awesome dials with crappy sculpts
As the Marvel clix go, Nightcrawler has always been exceedingly useful. His X-Men TA compensates for his inability to push, but this guy still has a glass jaw. I wouldn't call him broken, but you definitely get a lot for only 86 points
I wish that they'd given us just a good Nightcrawler that I could use on my X teams without feeling like a jerk. Make it a 1d6 roll whether he can pluck opposing figures away after hitting them with an attack: he succeeds on 3-6 on characters under 100 pts, he succeeds on 4-6 on characters between 100 and 200 pts, he succeeds on 5-6 on characters between 200-300 pts., he succeeds only on a 6 for characters over 300 pts. Opposing Duos, Giants, and Colossals all should get a +1 for that roll so they're harder to snatch up. And as already stated, it should also be harder for Nightcrawler when he's carrying a friendly. I like this character and what he does, but he's just too cheesy as is.
What is this i keep reading in forums specially the trading forum about this nightcrawler and "standard" and "variant". Are there two different sculpts somehow on this figure? If so is one version worth more than the other? Any info would be appreciated.
One of the sculpts has "Xavier institute for higher learning" or something similar written on the back, and the other has "Ben Cheung, heroclix champion" or something like that on it. He was the world champion and designed nightcrawler. The Ben Cheung is more valuable because there are less of them.
My friends and I just agreed to never play Nightcrawler again. Not because he's too cheesy, but because he's too over costed for what he does. I mean, the 14 HSS on top of his carry ability, on top of his 19D w/ super senses and shape aaaaaaaaaand stealth is nice. But I'd really like to see some of his more offensive powers represented. What about when he was kicking it in Excalibur all swashbuckler style w/ those swords? That has to be good for a couple clicks of B/C/F, right? And I bet he's pretty good w/ those swords so why not give him exploit weakness. I mean, if anybody is going to find the chink your armor it's Nightcrawler. Finally, Nightcrawler, is a super fast and agile guy, which begs the question, "Why no flurry?" You mean to tell me Nightcrawler can't get 2 shots in before you've realized what's happened? Get real, Heroclix. IMO, Nightcrawler is over costed by 36pts. 0% Comic accuracy.
You agreed to stop using him because you think he costs too much? Nightcrawler was never a big offensive force like you seem to think. The fact that he can hit on an attack, even if it doesn't deal damage, and drag the opponent back to your real bruisers is what makes him worth way less than he should be, if anything. Keep him in stealth and he's very difficult to get off of those first two clicks of his SP.
he's okay. but, like most 'broken' pieces, mystics owns his face off. i'm beginning to think that wizkids put mystics in the game just so there would always be an answer to whatever busted pieces they made in the future. but that would involve wizkids thinking ahead, which seems unlinkely.
I was wondering if players, in general, would be happier if they swapped out
"When Nightcrawler uses Hypersonic Speed, a target hit by a close combat attack may be placed adjacent to Nightcrawler after the power action resolves."
with
"Zoom can use Hypersonic Speed. He can use it normally, or instead of making a close combat attack he can use Flurry; Zoom can continue the rest of his movement (if any) after using Flurry, but he can not move between making attacks using Flurry."
O.K swap ZOOM for NIGHTCRAWLER and give hem the ability to move between Flurry's ??
just curious as to peoples opinion :)
I have destroyed with and been destroyed by this figure. If your opponent can't shoot through Stealth, he is fantastic. If you're opposing him and you can't see through Stealth, he's problematic. As far as balance goes, I don't mind the HSS/move ability as much as the Shape Change. In his early years (late Cockrum, early Byrne, I think), Claremont had him stop using the Image Inducer because it was becoming too much like an extra power for him. Now, it is. And that makes me sad.
Every figure has a weak spot, and so does nightcrawler.Barrier his pitchfort tail in a diamond and hes going nowhere fast.Mindcontroll him to grap a unfriendly figure.Or fight fire with fire.(nightcrawler vs nightcrawler) if all that fails ,send in Bullseye or ultimates or Dr strange. You can run but you can't hide.Last but not least PULSE WAVE! no reroll ,no shape change and no super sence!
I've used MC to (try to) bring him out of stealth, so I could place him to Outwit his Super Senses and Shape Change, then take him out in one round. It didn't work. He is really annoying. Just had a thought for Golden Age: WoS Bullseye, Tbolted to Ultimates, ICWO with Alpha:Oracle on the card. He can MC from 10 ignoring stealth, SS and SC. Toss in Mental Shields to avoid the feedback....
