I agree with you. My local Hastings is mainly staffed by high school and college age folks; I fall into that age bracket, and, since I don't even look at the date when buying groceries, I doubt too many of them check the dates on the stock they're expected to move. Is it negligent? Yes. Will it stop? Probably not.

I've gotten a handful of DVDs prior to street-date at Hastings. It's never been a big, anxiously awaited title, usually it's an older movie being re-released or a less popular TV series.

{shrugs;} Well, that the general idea of bussiness - grab that $/pound/Euro/etc before the other guy.
Some do it with service, some do it with sales/pricing, others with gimmicks....
Of course being 1st with the actual product is a great adavantage.

No store has been dumb enough to break street date that early. Well, IIRC.

For the record, no moral judgement coming from this guy (me). I just think that if there isn't some fallout over this (minor, most likely), WK must not be paying attention.

I understand the excitement of seeing dials early, and I know it does not seem like that big if a deal.

Unfortunately, breaking street date does hurt some folks.

Just remember, this really puts your local stores at a big disadvantage.
