Swamp Thing had returned to the Parlaiment of Trees for council. He offered the information he'd learned about the others from the Marvel universe. The Parliament digested this information and requested that Swamp Thing wait until they could give him an answer.

The Avengers, Nightcrawler and Spiderman returned to the mansion a little disconcerted.

Although the Sentinels seemed to be destroyed, there was still a lot of problems, including problems from space. They had one prisoner from the other universe called Gorilla Grodd who was swiftly delivered to the containment facilities in the facility as quickly as possible. Those facilities now contained a dangerous gorilla from another reality and two Aim agents.

On top of that, Spiderman was dealing with the stress of a lost wife who he loved and a former love who had seemingly replaced her. There was more stress when he added in the Black Cat is also here factor.

It didn't help that his wife wasn't here.

Sinestro embarked on a tour of terror, stopping at any world he found en route to the Skrull throneworld and defeating their spacefleets while intimidating the chancellor's of each world into swearing fealty towards him.

This was easier then it would have been normally since each Skrull world was still adjusting to the suddeness of having been uprooted from their own universe and transplanted to this one. Most of the world's enslaved natural residents saw this as an opportunity for revolt and Skrulls generally had their hands full.

There was also a resistance among the Skrulls to the rule of Raksor and Nenora which left many divisions in the Skrull empire that needed to be closed.

Sinestro was finding his conquest of the Skrull empire to have limited resistance.

Nick Fury sat in his new office in the facility. It was as if the facility was built specifically with Shield occupancy in mind. In fact he was almost certain he recognised it from blueprints for a planned facility that would not be finished until 2020 in the Colorado Rockies.

It was also a bit disturbing a mountain of Rockies proportion near Manhattan Island. He also wondered why entire cities from the other universe were recreated here while only key facilities in New York City were recreated. What was the meaning of that?

He had suggested that the Checkmate agents from the "DC" universe be placed under his direction, but the one called Batman was adamantly opposed to that. He had the distinct impression that this Batman didn't trust anyone from the "Marvel" universe.

The Flash fellow seemed like a good egg though, reasonable, if a bit old fashioned. He and Cap seemed to respond well to each other.

Aquaman seemed to be their version of Namor. Sparks would sure fly if those two ever met.

Hawkman seemed to be like some weird amalgam of the Angel and Wolverine.

Swamp Thing seemed to be a smarter, better smelling version of the Man Thing.

Hawk & Dove were a unique pair. War and peace?

The Huntress was just a run of the mill adventuress apparently. Nothing special really. Batman seemed to be aggravated by her.

He needed more info about those villains from their universe. They held one prisoner below. Maybe they could learn something by questioning that gorilla that seemed to be intelligent. That's just what he would do once they were certain his powers were neutralized.

Deathbird helped the green haired human drive off the monsters that he fought, between the two of them they managed to drive the odd creatures into retreat.

Deathbird hovered over the powerfully built human dressed in a red shirt and blue jeans, studying him. He was trying to thank her for her help when she heard a shout. Through the brush a pair of X-Men had appeared and were hurrying to them. She wasn't familiar with these particular X-Men but she wasn't interested in dealing with them so she flew off into the horizon, leaving the green haired mystery man calling her to come back.

Iceman and Boom Boom had heard the sounds of battle and rushed to investigate. As they broke through some heavy vegetation, They saw several defeated monsters lying on the road while a powerful man with long green hair seemed to be addressing some Avian woman.

As they moved forward to investigate, the Avian woman said something in an alien tongue and fled off into the sky.

Iceman had never fought her but he thought he recognised the alien Shiar woman called Deathbird from descriptions on Cerebro's data base.

The large man with the green hair turned to face them and Iceman saw that it was Dr. Leonard Samson.

They greeted each other and introduced themselves formally. Iceman and Doc Samson traded information quickly and then Iceman led Doc Samson back to their hideout.

Hawkman arrived at Midway City finally, something he set out to do when he first showed up and had that confrontation with Harley Quinn.

The citizens of Midway were happy to see him. The first thing he did was look for his wife. Disappointed that he hadn't found her, he checked in with the Shield liaison who happened to be Clay Quartermain. He was gratified that some Checkmate agents were assigned to the Midway City beat and therefore could keep an eye on these Shield agents if it was necessary.

He was introduced to three unusual women, Medusa, who had the most hair he'd ever seen on anyone. She further amazed him by demonstrating feats of strength using only her hair.

The Black Cat, a sultry woman who never the less was youthful, who demonstrated great agility and promised she had bad luck powers for anyone who crossed her.

And finally a woman who introduced herself as Rachel Van Helsing, who demonstrated the powers of a vampire but promised that she no longer was one herself. She elaborated that his city was infested with vampires however and he would need to be diligent in their eradication; to which, he would have her full support. Hawkman believed her story because it was daylight hours.

Captain America brought the Scarlet Witch and the Vision with him to meet Batman at the Titans Tower. After listening to what the Batman had deduced they both decided it had to be the Enchantress that was the problem going on information gleaned from Nightcrawler.

Batman demanded to know what could be done.

Captain America told him he would have to work together with Hercules to retrieve the Teen Titan.

The rest of the Avengers were trying to find a way to rescue Wolverine with the X-Men and Hercules was all they could spare. Since Thor wasn't available Hercules was the only one who might have a way to track the Enchantress. If there was a version of Asgard in this reality, Hercules would be the only one that might know how to get there.

They took Batman with them to Avenger's Mansion.

Batman felt a twinge of loss at the missing Alfred after he was introduced to Jarvis.

Hercules told The Batman he would be delighted to help him find the Enchantress and retrieve his little friend.

Bemused, Batman followed Hercules to his quarters.

Blastaar's sensors on Moondragon's ship detected the Skrull starship drifting in the solar system. Curious, Blastaar directed the ship to go within hailing frequency of them and hailed the ship.

Kl'rt the Super Skrull answered the hail. Blastaar greeted the Skrull and in an attempt to ingratiate himself reminded the Skrull of their common enemy, the Fantastic Four.

Guardedly Kl'rt listened to Blastaar exhort him into the possibility of working together. Kl'rt angrily rebuked Blastaar that they were about to return to the Skrull empire and had little use for an alliance at this time.

His tone changed when Blastaar allowed that he had Moondragon as a prisoner. Intrigued, the Super Skrull told Blastaar he could bring his little ship into the Skrull docking bay.

Moondragon had indirect ties to the Kree and might be valuable.

Thanks to Moondragon's status as a prisoner, Blastaar and the Super Skrull became allies.

Day 6: Early in the afternoon.

Hank McCoy was frantic after the disappearance of his good friend Bobby Drake. All the X-Men were distraught but it was he, and the other original X-Men that felt the loss most keenly.

Professor Xavier had returned with the news that Reed Richards and Dr. Strange were both using their resources to locate the missing heroes. Still he felt helpless and somehow responsible for Bobby's disappearance.

He ignored Xavier's order to not go anywhere alone and set out on a stroll through Westchester in hopes that he might be able to be of some help from the other side. He was; after all, a brilliant biochemist and might see something on the other side if he were by any chance taken.

He wandered for several hours dressed in a trenchcoat and a broad hat meant to disguise his simian features. His stomach began rumbling and he decided to grab a pizza to wolf down quickly.

As he entered the pizza parlor, he was greeted by a rift similar to the one that had engulfed Bobby. "Excellent" he thought, "This is just what I was looking for."

He willingly stepped into the rift and stepped out into a different diorama that showed him to be on the outskirts of an unfamiliar city. A fallen road sign said it was known as Capital City.

Perplexed he looked around at the nearby city but was clouted on the head from behind by a heavy blow which left him groggy.

As he lifted himself up to look at his assailant, he saw Spiderman's old foe the Scorpion. The Scorpion seemed to have activated a sharp treacherous looking appendage at the tip of his tail which apeared to be what he'd hit him with at first and was bringing it back for another blow.

The Beast agilely evaded the second attack and leapt away 15 feet out of the range of the tail.

The two found themselves in a standoff.

Amora found that with none of the important personages of Asgard available, she was bogged down with trying to manage the daily affairs of Asgardian life.

She had calmed them into accepting the big green dragon that guarded the Bifrost bridge, but she was overwhelmed by petty squabbles and minor business disputes that the people turned to her to resolve which distracted her from her plans to find and question Nightmare.

Frustrated, she toyed with abandoning Asgard, but her sense of duty overcame her natural tendency toward selfishness and avarice and she resigned herself to guiding her fellow Asgardians through trying times.

Bane wondered why Batman hadn't disturbed him since he took over Metropolis with Intergang. There was no doubt Batman was feeling betrayed after Bane had abandoned him but why hadn't he tried to punish him for this?

He asked for reinforcements from Darkseid when he learned that there were a lot of unknown superheroes that might become a problem. Darkseid sent him his "new" female furies and a contingent of odd creatures called Githyanki to supplement his forces.

The Female Furies consisted of Harley Quinn and an odd woman from the other universe called Titania. Titania was Bane's first exposure to anyone from the other universe and he didn't know what to think.

She was immensely powerful but she was always complaining. He just wanted her to shut up. He finally decided to separate them because Harley Quinn's inane chatter nearly drove him crazy as well. At least separated, he only had to cope with one at a time.

Bane was more interested in getting revenge on Aquaman. He had begun pumping the venom to bring up to a level that could compete with the fishman. Conveniently, he'd found a cache of venom right here in Metropolis.

Sometimes he even tested himself against Titania. She had a lot of power but her skill at battle was lacking. If she ever met a more skilled opponent of equal strength, she was done.

Sometimes he gave her pointers, but her natural abrasiveness made that iffy as to whether she actually listened.

Although there was some friction at first, the Leader and Morrow soon began to work well together and it wasn't long before they managed to bring the Sentinel factory back up online.

The next step was to reprogram the Sentinels to do the bidding of Darkseid. This turned out to be more difficult then they had expected.

Apparently; the original programmer had hated mutants so much, he had programmed backup triggers into the database that would direct the Sentinels to always target mutants first. The best the two were able to accomplish was to program the Sentinels to be willing to attack any they were directed to and if any mutants were around the Sentinels would target them first as their primary diirective.

As smart as Morrow and the Leader were, they couldn't overcome that.

Nightmare observed the new arrivals, Arcane lurking at his side.

Iceman, Boom Boom, Doc Samson and the Beast. Three X-Men and a "rational" psychiatrist who would deny the plausibility of his existence. Nightmare savored the delicious possibilities. He loved scientists. They were such a challenge and two had been delivered in one day! How ---- delightful.

He looked at the villains who had appeared. The Leader, Kirigi, who's appearance likely meant the Ninja sect known as the Hand was now here, Deathbird, a Shiar outcast with ties to the royal house and another foe of Spiderman in the Scorpion.

He liked what he saw.

Great Darkseid contemplated. Although he would never say it, he was glad to have the snivelling sycophant Desaad back. He appreciated the familiarity.

He begrudged the absense of his parademons. This was too much to bear. These Githyanki were poor substitutes.

He wondered if Sinestro was following through on the task he'd assigned him? The headstrong fool was undoubtedly ignoring him. He would have to teach him a lesson.

He decided to order Magneto to send a force to Metropolis to supplement Bane's forces. It gave him a perverse sense of satisfaction to be in complete control of Superman's home city. How delightful.

He would have to liberate Grodd eventually. The arrogant simian needed some humiliation though. That could wait.
