Pleased with CTD Nova in Post #2 although I would have at the very least used the Centurion sculpt for that version since it's a Pre-Nova Prime dial. Maybe I'll pop my old school mod on this version.

Post #11 happily updated with Master Mold, Giganto and the ctd Nova.

I'm still hoping -- not expecting, mind you, but hoping -- that we see some extra items in with some of the colossals. In the case of Giganto I'd love to see a sheet or two of Moloids as tokens, stackable as Hordes.

Heck, even some 2x2 hindering terrain tiles for his Tunneling ability would be nice.

NECA is killing me, didn't want ANY of the big guys except Galactus when I first heard of they were going to be in the set, now I want all of them except Dormamammu (hate the character) and maybe the mystery 6th (watch, it'll be a Phoenix and I'll just start having my paychecks direct deposited strait to them).

This sets GF is looking a bit on the weak side to me so far, but since I know there is a Super Skrull in it, I'll have to get it anyways (I'm such a junkie)

Just wanted to throw this out there before tomorrows Silver Surfer GF preview.

Seems to me like they are trying to fit the Defenders into a 300 or 400 point team and have them play off of each other (sum being greater then the parts).

Namor 100pts with the Xmen TA

Hulk 128pt wildcard

Dr Strange 65-70 maybe with either Defenders or Mystics (maybe both but cost would seem too low)

Silver Surfer around 100 (low I know) with probably the defenders TA

That would give Hulk 3 TA's to copy, and make him more usable, Namor as a flying brick, Strange as your support/utility piece, and Surfer as your sniper/range threat.

Might just work if that's what they are going for.

A word on your factory analysis...

I see myself mostly spawning 100 point Toys R Us sentinels, because they are potent, and die fast. At most, he can have 300 points worth of sentinels out, so if you are using one 300 point sentinel, your oponent can more easily ignore it and target him.

In addition to that, Spawning cheap 25 point sentinels gives tie up pices, and an unlimited source of shield team ability. That meens he can spawn three little guys and get a +3 damage to his range, or spawn a swarm to tie down people that would instead attack him, and then summmon a tougher guy to get in their face. I think using him to just spawn one 300 pointer is a complete waste.

Actually you're reading it wrong. As long as you have less than 300 points, you just have to summon a Sentinel that's under the total on the factory dial. In other words, you could have 295 point on the board, and summon a 300 point Sentinel if you're on the last click of the factory dial. How do you feel about it knowing that?

I'm going to let the 149 pt, 7-click, Power Cosmic TA micro-set Silver Surfer percolate for a while, probably not adding it to the rankings until tonight. That three of his seven clicks have no damage-reducing or avoiding powers is a sore point, as is the only penetrating attack power he has being the fairly indiscriminate and hostile to everyone Pulse Wave, and that a final two clicks where (short of a Critical Hit) he cannot harm anyone with Invulnerable -- all of these make him more difficult to accept. At least quickly.

That does make getting to the 300 point mark better. But it also makes it a good idea to get, as you said, as close to 300 points as you can.

The Surfer does take on an extra shine if one looks at it as a version the new Galactus might choose as a herald. Adding +1 to each of his combat values does dress him up a bit.

Coming dangerously close to cherry picking the CTD figures in Post #2. The CTD Defenders are leaving A LOT to desire.

I kind of feel like you're dressing up a pig at that point. And really, should you need Galactus to make Silver Surfer playable?

As far as ranking the GG CTD pieces...they're all pretty rank so far.

Or not. Surfer just ain't doing it for me at the moment.

Pretty happy with Dr. Strange and his Astral forms on Post #2. Looks like a lot of fun.

Post 4 has both Stranges up (a 10 and a Smurf bystander) and Bronze Surfer (definately not Silver or Gold).
