For variety, I am going say a GSX set Sentinel, preferably G09 Sentinel Mark V. Many people forget how different rules apply to colossal figures and you can catch a few people off guard.
Who's next?
Edit #1 : I am playing the following figures tonight. The build is 300pt Modern with a special rule that figures can use their AE power at any time, regardless of whether it's showing or not.
HA043 Penance + Thunderbolts ATA 66
HA022 Moonstone + ATA 84
HA037 Songbird + ATA 91
IH022 Matt Murdock 53
IHS101 Gamma Bomb 5
299pts with "Celebrity" keyword bonus. I like picking the map and even though it's only one PC, you never know when it could come in handy. Also, I'm predicting that I'll have to face at least one opponent who will immediately AE Banner into Tribal Hulk so it's Mystics all around once Murdock goes Shadowland on him. Thankfully the venue has a Highlander rule in effect. Battle report to follow.
Edit #2 - No Tribal Hulks, and I was the only one that played a character with the AE power at all.
Game #1
SI Nick Fury
BatB Talia
GL:GF Ramey H'oll
Gollum
The One Ring
I lost the initial roll up and my opponent chose the Soul World map. Seeing all the stealth I chose Ultimates for my TA. After picking up the Ring with Gollum, Ramey moved to the Gamma Bomb and disarmed it, leaving her separated from her team, but safe after I made horrible misses with Moonstone and Songbird, respectively. Penance ended up basing Talia and blocking her LoF to Murdock, allowing him to outwit Fury's Spymaster. Penance was the most help in the game once Talia beat on him for awhile and he got the "Pain is My Power" SP and started dealing more damage back than she was putting on him. There were a lot of missed attack rolls on both our ends, but Matty finally KOed Ramey before time ran out.
Game #2
GX09 Sentinel Mark V (x2)
After winning the roll off for map choice, I only felt slightly guilty choosing Muspelheim for the lava squares of unavoidable damage and placing the Gamma Bomb I chose Hydra for my ATA this round and was able to win decisively by attacking one Sentinel with all three Thunderbolts in the third round, the Gamma Bomb finishing the first Sentinel and causing the initial damage on the second, and finally maneuvering my team for ranged attacks on the second Sentinel. Made use of Penance's 6 range, even though he only deals 2 damage.
Game #3
In-Betweener
This was an uphill battle. I won map choice and chose the other side of the HoT Fast Forces pack, and chose X-Men for my ATA, knowing I would take some Mystics damage. Of my four figures, only Moonstone started with a unmodified damage value high enough to hurt IB. My first two P/PB attacks with her were successful, but I made the mistake of not pushing Murdock once he AE'ed into Shadowland DD and IB KO'ed him and healed for half the damage I'd put on him. Next, Songbird hit on the next four Incapacitate attacks she made, but with Power Cosmic it only slowed him down. One Penance KO later (the only thing Penance did to help this game was heal Moonstone with the ATA twice) IB was almost back to full health... and then he got there after KOing Songbird. Moonstone pushed for an attack but it was too late, and In-Betweener won the day. Bad bad matchup for me.

Reason: Added edit #2
I'll drop another suggestion out there to "reroll." Wrecker still sucks
Recommended figure will be...SM027 Parasite. I think he's exponentially better than the JL version, but still has some kinks. I'd be interested to hear this one.
I either forgot your report or didn't see it until I posted. I'm reposting the list here with added people.

I made a team of him, Firestar, and some fodder around the time WoS came out.
The whole idea was to keep pushing firestar, having her pick off the big meat of the enemy team while x-ray and some fodder tied them up. X-ray would pulse wave every other turn, and if Firestar was on her special clicks, she would heal and get the stat boost. The team did great!
Luckily, I was facing a swarm team so the constant pulse wave from X-ray was huge.

Preparing to use the Deadpool set Black Cat in every team for months
Hot kingpin for Kirby. I love that fig but I dont ever see anyone else use him
Pip the troll it is. Ive played him a hundred times or so
Ok, played him on a couple different teams last night. mobility is his biggest asset. Hes not going to earn any mvps, but he will occasionally get lucky. His sp is fun but again not real dependable. Overall he filled his roll nicely. Will continue to use this piece going forward.

In post 5 I've reported on Skullbuster's performance. Old Purple Puss, you can give Brightest Day Captain Boomerang a whirl.
Edit: Skaar, huh? I won't get to play him for a while unless I can encourage someone to play a pickup game after our all-fliers tournament this weekend, but I'm looking forward to trying him out.
Great choice. I ran 5 of him with Morlun for a Brute team, which was a variation of my Rampaging Hulk Zombie Spider-Man Monster team. Not much an opponent can do when your entire team can traverse the entire map in one move.

IH GF Skaar - A surprisingly versatile, mobile, damage-dealing monster. Want to go for BCF? Do it up, for a minimum of 4. Plus a great cost that leaves tons of room for support.
