I hear how valued I am as an employee, I am ranked 1 or 2 (depending on the month) out of my entire team, I can fit any role within the company...
...and yet I'm passed up for the team lead position, the role I've been performing since I came out to floor.
I just don't know what to think anymore...
They groomed me to become the second trainer, then they decided they didn't need a second trainer, so I would just be a back-up. I tried to apply for the mentor position but was told I was too valuable where I was currently at, so even though I applied, I was denied the position without interview. I applied for the team lead position which I have been doing for over 6 months, and I was denied the position because they wanted other people for the role.
When I asked if I was actually going anywhere in the company, I was told that I was... they just didn't know where.
I think at this point I need to be going out the door. I feel like it was all lip service, and now they want me to be around in case all of the teams need support. I'm the "most well-rounded" of anyone here, so I can fill in wherever needed.
It isn't fair, and it makes me feel pretty worthless.
I'm a vulture, waiting for the first person above me to fall so I can swoop in and feast upon their role. It's no wonder I'm depressed if this is the best my life has to offer.
I have seen this happen befor and I dont understand it. a company has a great emplyee but dosnt really do anything to show how important they are for the company untill the emplyee gets so tiered of feeling used and they walk. It stinks!
Larfleeze is my minion and Darkseid does my bidding!

I know exactly how you feel. I have to fight for every inch I gain in this company. It took me years to make any headway, but once I broke the ice it has been a little better. They're all well aware of your value. They're all in need of you. They just don't want to give up the prospect of having capable hands helping them when they need it so they'd rather just keep you as a permanent floater. I say that you ask them if it's ok if you use them as a reference. They'll ask why and then you explain that you're good enough to be filling a more important role and that someone else will recognize that. They'll either wake up and fix the problem to keep you, or they'll let you go. Either way, you're better off.

The days of being rewarded for being at a company for 30 years are over. The only way you get anywhere title/salary-wise is to move around. It's the nature of our economy now. I've seen friends do it and soar up the ladder with very little knowledge of what they're getting into. it sucks, but it's reality.
K-Ness I think they are at that point where they have you at a position they don't want to lose you at so they don't want to move you up. It's one of those things where you are too good at the job that they won't move you up because they don't want to find someone to replace you :-/.
Also Stan did you see that GI Joe is now on Netflix streaming? They also have that My Little Pony Friendship is Magic show you like...
