I guess I'm not seeing how, if the Gauntlet is part of my force, the Gems aren't also. it seems like an odd and unnecessary ruling and somewhat arbitrary.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
“No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style.”
The gems are game elements, and they're listed on your force sheet, ergo, they're part of your force.
Quote
1.2.8 HeroClix Force Composition: HeroClix forces must conform to all rules for the format being played. HeroClix forces do not have to be revealed to anyone except the judge until the beginning of the first match of the tournament, following the pregame procedures detailed in the latest HeroClix Rulebook. Judges can request to view a player’s force at any time after the player has signed up for the tournament. A written list of the force composition, including all game elements, may be required by the judge before the tournament begins. HeroClix forces can’t change their starting composition for the remainder of the tournament once revealed at the beginning of the first round.
The IG states that attach the gems to your IG, but nowhere is it stated that those are part of your force. Clearly, though, as they are being used on the IG, the are part of the game. Thus, when instructed to remove an object from the game, those may be removed.
Really?

During Step 2 of Preparing For Battle, after starting areas have been determined, all players reveal their battlefield condition card simultaneously.
A battlefield condition alters the rules of the game as explained in its card text. Battlefield conditions affect only characters on the map. If multiple copies of a battlefield condition that causes a die (or dice) roll to occur are in play, roll the die (or dice) for each copy in play. If a player’s force is defeated, his or her battlefield condition remains in effect until the end of the game.
It's explicit that a BFC only affects characters on the map, but not for objects. However, keeping in mind the bolded part and looking in the glossary:

The Gauntlet is not on the map, nor are the Gems attached to it. I don't see how they are affected by either BFC.

They don't need to be on the map. You quoted a definition of battlefield, but BFCs don't change the battlefield, they change the environment of the battlefield. We don't have an exact definition of what the environment of the battlefield is. I imagine that includes the gauntlet.

...Hrm, that is a good point. I did try looking up "game" in the glossary, since both BFCs in question specify removing objects from the game, and there is no definition for game, either.

So, assuming you can remove gems from the gauntlet with Damage Control or Malfunction, what happens if all of the gems get removed from the Gauntlet?
The Gauntlet itself states, "At least one Gem must be attached to the gauntlet to activate it." But nothing else in the Gauntlet's rules text mentions 'activation'. Do you still roll for the Gauntlet and turn it? Can you still use the powers granted? Do you still get the benefits of stages 1, 2, and/or 3?
Quoting again so we judges can have an application of this situation for interaction of BFC's and gauntlet? Thank ye,
