Though Batman tries to stop the Top from gaining momentum, he cannot prevent it forever, and the Top begins to get deadly momentum. Fortunately for the Caped Crusader, Robin gets a rope around Batman and pulls him out of harm's way...for now (needed a 7, rolled a 9, PC'd to a 6).
(Robin now has 2 tokens and is pushed, so that should be 5/6 @@. And the Top isn't Indomitable, is he? So he should be 5/6 too.)
Turn 4
While he had hoped to stop the Top cold before he could become dangerous, Batman is far from unprepared. He activates his contingency -a special sonic weapon, modulated to disturb the vestibulocochlear nerve thus inducing intense vertigo and nausea in anyone moving at high speed.
It works just as advertised.
As the Top keels over, Batman lunges at him and grabs him in a collar tie hold.
Meanwhile, Robin looks around, searching for Batgirl.
(Leadership roll 3. 2 actions.
Batman Outwits the Top's Super Senses and attacks him, using 3 Contingency Plan tokens to boost his attack. 1,5+13 vs. 17 is a hit, for 3 damage.
Robin clears.
Batman gets a Contingency Plan token.
Contingency Plan tokens: 1)
Batman secures his grip on the Top, leveraging his hold into a guiliotine lock.
"Give it up, Dillon. You can't fight in your condition -you can hardly stand up straight."
Robin has found the hogtied Batgirl, and runs to free her.
(Leadership roll: 1. 2 actions.
Batman continues to Outwit Super-senses and uses his Contingency plan token for another attack. 2,3+11 vs. 16 is just enough for a hit. 3 damage and he's out!
At this point, it's just a question of shuttling Batgirl out ASAP. Next turn, Robin can push to carry her to Batman, who then acts twice in a row to carry her toward the exit. Then she can move the rest of the way herself. Which means unless something nasty happens, I'll finish on turn 9. Personally I don't fancy going through the motions, unless I'm in for a surprise...?
Well, sort of. Batgirl is actually a robot set to detonate! Robin takes 3 damage. In addition, you've got The Joker on your case now (the SR Arkham Asylum version). He is deployed in your starting area, in the very lower left (I can't link to the map since I'm on my phone right now). This is it Batman. The Joker must have some more clues. Unfortunately, it looks like you'll have to beat them out of this madman.
"Oh come on Batsy, let's go! I haven't got all day. I've got business meetings, carnivals, and then there's that thing with the frogs...oh yes, and I'm supposed to get rid of you!" Joker begins firing flares into the air, one of which makes the Bat signal, illuminating in the night. "Isn't it beautiful? Now then Batman, you know what that means. It means you're supposed to get here as soon as possible. People could be dying for all you know! Heck, I could even be loose!"
Turn 8
"Come now, Joker. How many times have we done this before? It only ever ends one way."
Batman stalls, and waits for Robin to get into position. Unfortunately, Robin is far from top form after his close brush with the Batgirl-bomb and takes longer than expected.
(Leadership roll: 2. 2 actions.
Both clear.
Batman gets a Contingency Plan token.
Contingency Plan tokens: 3)
"Ah, but does it ever really end? Well, would you look at me, I'm beginning to sound like the Riddler! Can't have that. Oh, it looks like you would just rather have me come to you. Oh, I thought you'd never ask! And hey, I'll grab some flowers on my way over for you!"
Batman snaps into his commlink: "His patience cracked. Attack pattern alpha abort. Wait for my signal."
"But, Batman..."
"Wait!"
Robin fumes and waits.
Batman and Joker have indeed danced this dance before. When Joker lunges, the Bat is completely ready. He catches Joker and rolls with him into a judo throw, sending the Clown Prince of Crime flying onto the ground. Then he immediately rolls into an upright position and throws a batarang backhand, disarming Joker of his ubiquitous knife.
(Leadership roll: 1. 2 actions.
Batman attacks Joker, again spending 3 Contingency plan tokens to up his attack.
4,2 +13 vs 16 is a hit for 3. Then Outwit Blades/Claws/Fangs.
Robin does nothing.
Batman gets a Contingency Plan token.
Contingency Plan tokens: 1)
Unfortunately for Batman, Joker too is ready, and Joker darts back and forth, finally leaping on top of Batman's head and delivering a shocking blow to the back.
"Hahahahahahaha, that was SHOCKING! Ooh, that was bad, even for me. Come on, take me down!"
Joker Perplexes up his Damage by 1, and swings at Batman, rolling a Crit Hit for 4 damage! Would you like to use PC with Batman?
