I will preface this by saying I have not played the other (usually overpowered) Superman figures, and I have not yet played this one either. I am more of a Marvel guy, but all these Batman/NML events are making me learn more about DC figures.
If you take this guy and put him up against the entirety of Heroclix, for golden age games or what have you, then yes I agree he is over costed by a bit. However like someone else said, I don't think you should compare him that way. When you're in the later months of NML playing constructed games, this guy is going to be insane. Where else are you going to get these damage numbers with a full dial of move-and-attack powers? For just 10 points you can give him Indom with the Belt (the Belt that you will probably be using anyways at 12+ points). I understand no Willpower is a large complaint because of the precedence set by other Superman figures, but it's easily rectified in these circumstances which as I said is how I'm judging him.
I get that it's a large chunk of your points in a 300 point game, but there are tons of cheap support options to back him up, and even a good amount that can make a themed team (25 point Batgirl for a cheap outwit comes to mind). No stealth busting is kind of a bummer, but hey I'd rather hypersonic in there for 6 then go hide myself behind a wall or in some hindering (behind the aforementioned Batgirl) anyways.
All in all I totally agree he's a bit over costed, and not what a lot of DC fans are accustomed to for a Superman dial, but in the environment he is going to be played in he is a rarity. I think my opponent would have a lot of trouble dealing with a flying, hypersonic-ing, super strength lifting, 4+ damage dealing figure in a set where most other figures plink away with 3 damage top dial and fade from there. Bottom line: I would have liked the Assassin pack (who wouldn't!?) but I'm glad I was able to get this one.
Also, of course I hope there is a trait revealed sometime soon and it was just left off by mistake, but assuming there is no trait I am still happy with pulling this figure in a Batman set.
Didn't think this piece deserved the three stars until I realized the lack of indom (he might deserve two). He's a beater in set but out of set he's a chump.
Agreed. I thought he would be good in a batman set, I was wrong. The 9 attack mid dial is just bad for a 200 point figure. He's trying to hit all these figures protected by Stealth (No Superman Ally!) with Combat Reflexes, usually need a 9 or 10 just to hit. Maybe the last click or two could have 9 attack, but nothing else should be that low. The defense values are the only redeeming factor for this figure, but it's just too little too late. Movement powers are also great, love to see full-dial move-and-attack powers, but the low attack just spoils it for me. I could even get around the lack of indom if he were swinging with 11's most of the dial (even though he can only act once every other turn, at least he'd be doing something with that action!), but as is he's just not good at all. Should be in the 130 points range tops.

This is not a valid fix. Throwing overpowered items on characters doesn't do anything other than show how badly you need to rely on such things. A figure like this should have been made good from the get-go, especially if you're spending more points for a character that in the past has generally had the game elements this one is missing. What would have simply made this Superman 1000x better would have been his star on his base giving him traited Willpower. Then I could believe he is worth his points.
I love this figure...sitting on top of the trinity Tabapp dial. Its a very good sculpt imho. I feel there was supposed to be a trait on this guy and he was just left to rot when the set got pushed up.
This guy is even worse than Franken-Supes from DC 75th! I think the fact that BM001 Batman gives him Stealth really knocked up his cost. If he had a starting 5 damage value, I would consider using him in NML Month 6. Superman Ally TA couldn't have hurt either. The fact that they abandoned the trait is SO disappointing. They should have made it free action Force Blast or something...
The dial itself isn't bad. But 196 points for it is overpriced. Lack of Superman TA is also a sticking point. There really is no reason for Supes or Bats to not have their respective TAs unless it was to shave off points (and as mentioned, this dial is overcosted as it is) and the JLA TA isn't cheap yet useless on high pointed characters like this (why WK doesn't listen to this often cited misstep to dial design is beyond understanding).
