Harden was frustrated. I did not catch any of the games last night, but it sounds like frustration. As for whining, it's just the way of the world now. I ref soccer and it's the same thing. The players politely ask me to watch something the other team is doing wrong, then two minutes later they're frickin mugging someone. It's two-faced idiocy at its best. I like Harden, wish he'd fallen to Minnesota in that draft. Think about that combo, Harden+Rubio+Love, yes please.
At this point, I'll be grateful if anyone but the Heat win the whole thing. I'm dreaming, but Lebron James forever put himself beneath Jordan in the discussion of all time greats by going to Miami.
And Dwayne Wade and Kevin Garnett are the two dirtiest players in the league. Every time I see them face off, I was half hoping for a mutual injury collision.
IR as a long life Miamian, I will respectfully disagree...
D-Wade is awesome. He was great in Marquette, and he's great in Miami. He's been a little injury plagued the last few years though. This year he's actually been relatively selfish. I don't think he's any dirtier than anyone else. I like the Celtics, but I do think KG & Rondo are pretty dirty.
Oh and I almost forgot... GO HEAT!!!

Fort Lauderdale agrees that Wade isn't a dirty player. I do think he did make a dirty play once, and it was on Rondo, but that was after Rondo had done a few things that were uncalled for and unprofessional.
Garnett, he's not that dirty of a player, more hardnosed, but last night's play on Carmelo was definitely dirty.
Durant whining was pretty funny. I watched him a few times as he came up the court and he is slapping and pushing the whole time, but if it happens to him, he wants a foul call.
Wade is the heir to Reggie Miller, the kickout king. Dirty in my book. Both great players, Hall-of-Famers, but dirty in that regard. Garnett is hard-nosed, but he's definitely dirty, this coming from a Timberwolves fan who watched him for years. The weird part, he's like the most humanitarian guy in the NBA. He gave a cool million for Katrina and has done tons of other stuff.
And I just read an article about a Nuggets commentator calling Mark Jackson classless. Jackson is just using a tool, the media, to his advantage. I don't like it, but he's doing it. This commentator is a decent color guy, but more biased than Bill Walton was to the Lakers.

Yeah KG is a really great guy. He just happens to take basketball really, REALLY, seriously. I imagine his pre-game rituals are similar to that of a viking berserker. I'm a C's fan, and I admit he's pretty nasty on the court.

Sounds like Lebron
I don't think I've ever seen a foul get called on Lebron that he didn't immediately make a face and/or freak out about. Which I find especially irritating considering the amount of "Star" calls he gets in his favor.
How I long for the days when players fouled and their hands would go up. I watch the game now and I see everyone questioning fouls. It's ridiculous
Refs need to throw out more Ts, get players back in line. Although part of me can't blame the players, given how inconsistant the NBA officiating is (not saying that officiating hoops is easy, but seriously, it's probably the least consistent of the major sports.)
It reminds me of playing Call of Duty online, no one ever seems to die because of being out-skilled by the opposing team.
I'm guessing this is a carry over from the AAU games? I'll say this the complexity of NBA sets probably requires an extra referee in the game. I think players are bigger and faster now and the star treatment causes things to skew heavily from game to game. That and different refs call games differently based on their personal preferences. A Joey Crawford game is not going to be called the same way a Violet Palmer game will be called, which will be different than how a Dick Bavetta game will be called, which will be different than a Danny Crawford game.

Agreed, get another ref in there.
The fact that different refs call the game differently is certainly a problem. I understand why it exists, but it shouldn't. Refs are, more or less, game equipment and need to be "regulation". Do some things fall into a grey area? Sure. But should one ref call travel every time it happens while everyone else turns a blind eye? No. Either it's a rule or it isn't.
As an aside, Joey Crawford doesn't call the game like any other ref on the planet. Sometimes I'm not even sure if he's aware of the rules of basketball. And when he is, he skews them in a way that allows him to decide the outcome of the game.
I'm glad they decided to come down on flopping, but they need to start coming down harder on players expressing disbelief about fouls that get called on them AND players need to stop turning to the refs on every shot they miss and pointing to their wrist or elbow. You'd think every player was fouled on all their missed shots. I love LeBron, but he's a big one to complain when he misses shots. So's Kobe.
Man, they had an 18 pt lead in the 4th and it dwindled down to like a 2-3 point lead. They kept turning the ball over on silly inbounds plays and strips. I think Faried getting into foul trouble early really hurt the Nuggets. He just plays way too aggresive. Even when he had 4 fouls, he would still fight over every single offensive rebound and loose ball. Good player, but needs to play smart to avoid getting in foul trouble.
