Nope.
You give free action for DIMENSIONAL PORTALS Roll a 6.
Give action for Running Shot, you know have two replacement values that take effect at the same time so active player gets to choose the order.
you can either
A: Half the 10 to 5, then replace that with the 16
or
B: Replace with 16 then half the 16 down to 8.
I could have worded what I said better. My point was that they don't allow it to happen easily, not that it prevents it entirely. This will require unique wording, which always runs the risk of creating more problems.
Just to note that is how the rules are right now.
Most people here believe that it should be that you half the replacement speed from the trait.
uh, yeah....that's how we played it last night.
But we also played Fantomex the way it reads on the card....none of that bringing her back with two tokens on her.
What can you say? When the playtesters issue us complete garbage, I can't expect simple sentences that explain powers to be on a reference card of some sort that comes with a character in a booster I purchase, right?

Agreed. If this is not the intent fixing it without unintended consequences will get...tricky.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

just to be sure i understand it correctly : the only thing they would need to add to errata it is that the value is then "locked" ? would it still be usable in running shot if being locked ? locked value can't be halved right ? so it won't correct a thing i guess
I apologize for being dense here, but would one not have to complete the dimensional portal free action, thus replacing his speed value, before giving him the action to use running shot?

Yes, but due to the wordings of the "Replace then Modify" rule, it doesn't matter WHEN you do the replacements at all!
Whenever you need a value for something, like say if Mikhail is going to make a Running Shot you first check the printed value then you apply any replacements to that value in ANY order chosen by the active player and finally you add any modifiers there might be to get your total value.

The free action for Dimensional Portal would have to be given before the power action for Running Shot, yes. But the Golden Rule Maraud quoted makes it clear that you will apply all replacements to the printed value when you start to use that value, so you will still be doing the replacements in the order of your choosing starting from the printed value at the point you are using the value.

I think
"when you replace your speed value this replacement must happen before any other replacements" would fix the problem.
Iron River Read my wife's comic or I will say mean things about your dog.
I suckered these guys into playing: Feedback Damage
Though that wouldn't fix the issues with replacing range values that shows up a few other places (TT Aquaman and GSX Magneto springs to mind)
I think he was saying that this kind of wording would fix it for THIS figure (and we could surely errata the other figures as well with similar wordings too, but we will have to do it for each of the figures who need it)
For movement purposes, would anything be solved by changing Running Shot from:

Since it is not replacing the speed value - it is a limit based on the speed value - there is no issue of multiple simultaneous replacements.
This doesn't help with range value replacements, and I don't know what other issues this may cause.

How could you possibly know intent without talking to GD?....Perhaps the power is costed to include a Huge Move RS.
The piece does cost 174 points.
