Thanks for both the wishes of luck and the suggestion. I went ahead and figured with the Command Tokens, I can do close to what the Invasion Plans would have done - so I went with your suggestion.
<snip>
I went 3-0 (coming in second) in a field of 10. Very exciting and satisfying to see my plan work fairly well - with some luck. And I have a Sutherland - the last LE ship I wanted from the Dominion War.
Have some rep!
Congrats!
It sounds like your very well thought and well used use of Sensor Echo was a big asset!
As for the Command Tokens vs the Invasion Plans.....yeah, the Tokens are really good. You drop them on any team and have your team improved (depending on your choice of tokens of course).......but with the Valdore in your fleet, and knowing that dice are spiteful, spiteful creatures having that re-roll token available it an option the Tal Shiar would surely approve of.
Have you already started thinking about what you might run for month 5(or waiting to see what Admiral's orders might be in effect)?
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?
Koranak
Gul Dukat
Cloak Device
Dorsal Weapons Array
Koranak Generic
Gul Evek
Cloak Device
Dorsal Weapons Array
RIS Vo
Donatra
Cloaked Mine
Went 3-0 and got a Sutherland.
The hardest time I had was against my opponent round 2, I was able to one shot his Sisko with my Dukat, sadly he was able to one shot my Dukat with Worf (On a Koraga) with Drex and Advanced Weapon System. His Martok made some bad moves towards my cloaked minefield after wasting away my Vo by hitting it with Martok at range 1 (stupid defense dice fails!) I was able to get in a lucky shot and able to get around and get in behind him and was able to finally take him down but it was a rough game.
Nicely done. Our OP 4 is next Saturday, and I'm still trying to figure out which ship will be Robin to my Enterprise's Batman.
I really want to make the Defiant work, but I've had pretty awful results with it so far. Excelsior with Pike was better, but not great.
The guy who won used the Defiant and either the Koraga or the Ch'tang (not sure which) to go 3-0.
His fleet was min/max'd - wiping out his first two opponents without losing a ship. He destroyed his second opponent on turn 2.
The guy uses mines which does most (all?) the work for him and is something I will have to work on countering if I want to be an upper level player.
He posts his Battle reports on youtube and a friend of mine played against him - I'd be curious on what he had on the Defiant.
I know he had Quantum Torpedoes and he had the Federation mines - but that's all I know. EDIT: I think I found the info - some (much?) you won't use yourself:
Defiant
+ Picard
+ Cloaking Device
+ Quantum Torpedoes
+ Attack Pattern Delta
+ Superior Intellect
+ Sulu
+ Spock
+ Antimatter Mines
+ Antimatter Mines
EDIT: EDIT: Flagship resource must have been in use, too - so this isn't exactly the month 4 Defiant.
I'm surprised you are down on the Excelsior. It looks like a solid ship although admittedly I don't have one and have never faced one.
Once you get the flagship resource, though, any ship that goes on gets better - a lot better.

Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.

I really tried to use that sensor echo more and it made a huge difference. Also, I love the D'deridex-Class ships. The ability to back up 2 has been key in half my victories.
Next month? Not sure. I play pure Romulan at this venue (only one I play at right now) so some things will be the same. I want to experiment with
dealing with mines as that is something the player currently in first place constantly (only?) uses.
Month 5 will be interesting with the OWP - since you can destroy them. I'm thinking it might make sense to set up like you are going to 'first destroy the platforms' but then rush across the formation and engage the opponent - ideally getting them stuck between your ships and the OWP.
I did a similar move with Month 2 and it worked well. I wonder if the Gal-Gathong will be out by then. I have high hopes for that ship - and I will be using the Admiral's Orders and likely the Flagship resource.

How is he getting all those mines and torpedoes as well as dual elite talents? I'd like to see his strategy and see if it would work against 7 or 8 attack dice hitting the little defiant at once.

It has to be one of the Flagship cards, otherwise it's an illegal build. Independent #4 (back of Dominion) would make it legal.

I didn't realize there was more than 1 elite talent - the list would have included the Flagship Resource, then. This wasn't the exact list at Month 4 since the Flagship wasn't available then. Probably close, though...
My mistake.

It got off one good Torpedo shot, but otherwise crumpled pretty quickly. (Excelsior, that is.)
If you can get your hands on the Sutherland, I really think "Disobey Orders" looks extremely useful for 2 points and I also think, on a two-ship build that "Secondary Torpedo Launcher" at 4 points can provide some major offensive kick.

Transwarp drive is quite fun if you can pull off a turn one target lock Quantum Torpedo. Very unexpected if your opponent doesn't see it coming and cloaks thinking they are safe.
Yeah, that's what my goal was. We ended up playing a three-player game and it threw me off. (Bright side: Kirk took out three Defiants--Picard, Sisko, and Terrell.)
That's probably going to be my build when I play for a Sutherland.
Also, I've decided I really like the Independent Flagship #2 (back of Klingons) for ToS Enterprise. Free Scan, four attack (plus Spock), and Sulu to give four defense die. Transwarp Drive and three Cheat Deaths, too!
I'm going to look at the Flagship cards more closely now that I have them in hand and will start abusin... I mean using them. I still think the Command Bar is my favorite but really bad dice are always going to be in the game.
I love the tactical officer so much right now, the only issue is the whole Target Lock but really Romulans can wait out the opponent and let them fire on them once.
