Reason: forgot Lian Harper
I realize this is all about Ollie...but what about the best archer in the game? The 55 point Merlyn that has 10 range, 4 damage via range combat expert and stealth! That bad boy defeated a phoenix for me!

When he changes his name to Green Arrow he will be in the article

For me, its the DC75th Green Arrow for several reasons:
1) Right price - 80 points is kinda what I want an Ollie for. I'll take less. More points start moving him into A-Level range and in my world, Green Arrow isn't a figure I start building a team with.
2) Accurate - this Ollie feels like Ollie without being insanely overpowered.
3) Sculpt - I bought the Last of the Longbow Hunters when it was on the stands (yeah, I'm that old) and the look makes me reminisce.
4) Dial design - its well done. Steady stats make pushing worthwhile. 9 range gets him to hit people pretty far away. Stealth if I am worried about ranged pieces. Running Shot with a push in case I'm not.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
I am still satisfied using either the DC75 Veteran Green Arrow or Crisis GA with Elite Sniper for my Green Arrow needs on a team. I think we are pretty much covered on the Emerald Archer piece in this game. That said, I don't play publicly anymore, so Modern and Retired mean nothing to me.
I love the Lantern duo, it seems like with the right team it would be such a fun piece, but apparently I haven't found that team yet. 187 is police code for murder, and that's what happens to them every single time I field them. I really wanna make them work, but it just doesn't happen. It's like a parent going to a little league game with the hopes that this will be the game that little Ollie hits the big home run, instead of striking out like always.
'Arrow' has *some* good things going for it, but it's mostly ridiculous overwrought tripe. Primarily though, it is NOT how I envision the character of Green Arrow and thusly not what I'd be bringing to the table. (Not entirely unreasonable grumpness on my part, as the show doesn't even call him "Green Arrow"!)
For what it's worth, season 2 has been moving closer to hero than killer. He still doesn't have the liberal streak that makes Ollie so fun, but he's going by Arrow now instead of the Hood or The Vigilante. And he's got the correct mask.

My problem with this is that while Netflix had the entire first season for me to watch, Hulu only has episodes 5 and after from season two. I need those first four episodes!

Arrow may not be that faithful to it's comic counterparts, but then, there aren't many TV/Movie versions of superheroes that really are. It used to bug me, but then I decided, that I don't really WANT the exact same thing as in the comics. I've already read them. So I'm cool with changes as long as they don't make the character a mockery or something that they're inherently not. I have really enjoyed Arrow so far, myself.

Yep, it's a growth story. I find that quite endearing. A nice contrast to Smallville where the moral centre was there from the start. I've loovvved S2 ... And I'm one of the biggest GA fans around.

I'm a little surprised you didn't mention the JL52's sparse defense powers (1 click of Willpower followed by 2 naked 17DVs) among the Cons, otherwise very nice write up.
or if he is based his sharpshooter will cost him with that energy explosion possibly shelling on to him if he doesn't have that ranged combat expert. I ended up killing my GA in a game at his last few clicks not realizing the energy explosion will splash to me.

I've seen the first few episodes of season 2 and I did like the direction they were going. I think it's kinda lame that it took the death of *spoilers* to convince him that killing is wrong, but at least he did finally reach that conclusion. Also I don't miss that character in the slightest.
I'm glad to hear he starts wearing a mask, the eye makeup looked ridiculous.
I don't hate the show, but I don't think it's a good show either. It really is it's own thing and doesn't feel like Ollie to me.
Of course, when I think of Ollie, I think of the character as reinvented by Denny O'Neil and how he was back in the Satellite era JLA. The current comic character isn't very much like that and the Judd Winnick version only kinda was. And of course, that version was pretty far removed from how he had originally been portrayed.
So while, I've got my preferred take on the character, I do try to judge 'Arrow' purely on its own merits (and lack there-of) and not on how it compares to my nostalgia for the character.
