As Superboy flew back to Hala, he was intercepted and challenged by several Kree battlecruisors.

Superboy was reluctant to engage them in battle and indicated he would like to arbitrate with them. They mistook him for Gladiator of the Shiar and opened fire on Superboy

Phantom Girl and Shrinking Violet immediately sought out the surviving group of Predators. Since Tinya could see them even when they were cloaked that wasn't hard to do.

The Predators welcomed them because of Tinya's presence.

They stayed together, on the lookout for Kree patrols.

Day 48: midafternoon, On a replicated Kree homeworld (Hala), in an alternate universe.

Brin Londo; Timber Wolf had noticed that both Tinya and Salu were missing. Two more members missing without a trace? This was too much.

Angered, Brin shouted at the other Legionnaires on duty, even though it was not their fault.

Timber Wolf stormed angrily through a door and directly into a rift in reality.

Six new Predators were waiting when Timber Wolf emerged from the rift.

They immediately determined from Timber Wolf's athleticism that he would be worthy prey.

One of them attacked Timber Wolf, since Brin was unarmed, The Predator attacked him physically. Brin couldn't see the Predator but he could smell it and was able to partially evade the attack.

Brin's nostrils detected that there were more of them even though he could not see them.

The Predator that attacked him stayed visible though and Timber Wolf; who was already angry, savagely retaliated while five other Predators watched.

Superboy was mostly annoyed by the attacks from the Kree battle ships

But then the Kree brought out weapons designed to deal with Gladiator and other Imperial Guard members.

Superboy was shocked to find that some of the blasts fired at him actually hurt and he began to be more cautious.

Timber Wolf defeated his opponent, knocking it out but was immediately challenged by a second Predator.

Luckily, Brin had the stamina to cope with this.

Meanwhile, the other Predators watched the fight with keen interest.

The group of Predators that Vi and Phantom Girl had attached themselves to suddenly became agitated and restless. Soon they were on the move forcing Vi and Tinya to follow them.

Within minutes, they arrived on a scene where Vi and Tinya's teammate; Timber Wolf, was locked in a brutal battle with a Predator.

Vi and Tinya instinctively wanted to help Brin, but were held back by the Predator group they had attached themselves to. They realized Brin was being tested and they should not interfere.

Timber Wolf found this fight harder because the Predator learned from his predecessor's mistakes. The fight went on longer but Timber Wolf finally managed to prevail.

Nevertheless, another Predator attacked before Timber Wolf could catch his breath. Timber Wolf didn't even have time to look around and see that two of his missing team mates were watching.

Vi and Tinya wanted very badly to help Timber Wolf but knew that the Predators would react badly to interference.

For some reason, the Flight rings Brainiac 5 had provided them could not cope with the Predators language. Possibly because the Predators were silent most of the time or only made clicking noises with their mandibles.

They waited helplessly but were ready to interfere if it looked like Brin might lose his life.

Superboy wasn't sure what to do next when the Kree starships upped the anti. He could easily destroy them, but that was not in his nature,

Suddenly, he was joined by four strangers,

Captain Mar-Vell, Moondragon, Adam Warlock and Quasar from the Marvel universe had arrived and were using their own powers to drive the Kree off. Moondragon was riding a construct by Quasar that enabled her to breathe.

Mar-Vell had sensed the disturbance and after wrapping up issues in Shiar territory had led the four heroes to the Kree empire where they were able to assist Superboy.

When Superboy saw that the newcomers were not malicious and would not cause loss of life, he relaxed and approached his would be rescuers.

Mar-Vell and his allies effectively shut the Kree fleet down.

This was a relief to Superboy because he did not want to harm any of the Kree.

Superboy explained that he was on a rescue mission.

Mar-Vell acknowledged that they too were on a rescue mission.

Timber Wolf fought harder then ever against his third Predator. This time it looked like Brin was about to lose ----- except that a Kree party searching for the escaped Predators shot Brin's opponent, right in the back.

When the Kree shot the Predator, all hell broke loose. In the pandemonium, Vi and Tinya reached Timber Wolf, who was coughing.

They reassured him and he recovered even faster, knowing Shrinking Violet and Phantom Girl were there.

The Kree battle with the Predators this time went differently as the Predators were aided by Shrinking Violet and Phantom Girl and; after some cajoling from the girls, Timber Wolf.

The Kree were driven away but it was clear they would be back with more reinforcements. Since this was the Kree homeworld, it didn't look good for the heroes or the Predators. They retreated toward some nearby mountains.

Superboy and his new allies; the cosmic heroes from the Marvel universe, knew that they were risking intergalactic war with the Kree. They had to get whatever Legion member or members who sent that distress signal out of there without creating an incident.

This was going to be tricky since Mar-Vell himself was considered a traitor by the Kree and had a standing death sentence if he ever returned.

They moved in anyway.
