Again at the risk of sounding serious (my phone just tried to put "stupid" there), I think Harpua (and maybe Sutkus :P) are smart enough to know that.
In the field in which I work (stripper pole sales and distribution) the distinction between decimals and fractions is a distinction with which I must be concerned on a daily basis. If the customer calls and requests a 2.5" diameter pole, then the packing slip cannot say it's a 2 1/2" diameter pole.

I will take note that you have a notational preference perhaps for precision purposes of packed poles...
"A Jester unemployed is nobody's fool." - The Court Jester "And so he says, I don't like the cut of your jib, and I go, I says it's the only jib I got, baby!

The size of the pole really does matter. We do have tolerances, but when you are talking about length, a 1/16" can make all of the difference between success and failure.
It might be better to say "calculate the attacker's final damage value, then split that amount among the hit targets as damage dealt." That's the procedure to follow.
YES! But that is not how the rules read.
To clarify, I didn't bring up this discussion to argue that multi-target damage calculation should function any different than it does, simple that their verbiage brings up issues.
Another solution would be to define "specific number" as one set by a power, however I haven't actually seen that in writing anywhere. Correct me if I'm wrong on that.
I think it's ambiguous. I choose to do specifically 2 damage to a target and specifically 2 to the other.
And it's only relevant because of the use of "divide" in the rules for attacking multiple targets, which I feel opens the argument that the "replace then modify" rule could apply. I'm not saying I'm necessarily right or that you're necessarily wrong, just that Wizkids needs to reword their rules to take the ambiguity out of the equation.
I think it's ambiguous. I choose to do specifically 2 damage to a target and specifically 2 to the other.
Or, rather, I choose my damage to be 2 verses target A and 2 verses target B.
When I read "specific number" with no further definition, I read that as any number other than it's printed value. If you can infer what it's not, it's not unreasonable for me to infer what it is.
I'll point again to multiple Wonder Woman figures with a lasso power that SPECIFY her range value.
A Pulsewave that hits multiple characters has a SPECIFIC damage value.

A number a player chooses is no less specific that one set by a power. It's a real number, clearly defined, not an abstract number. I'm not choosing my damage to be around 2, I'm choosing it to be exactly, specifically 2.
Specific means it was specified for you. You choosing it, by definition means it was not specified.
It's a mater of semantics whether the "specific" refers to the origin of the number or the value of the number. You assume it refers to the assignation of the number but there is no actual evidence to support your claim. Thus why I believe the rules need clarification.

I think 99.999999999999999% of the Heroclix community understanding the rule is evidence enough.
When you go to pay for an item, the cashier tells you a specific number. You don't tell them, they tell you.
