Christopher Chance was very anxious to try to contact Superman but he knew he would have the best chance of doing that by trying to contact Batman first.

Commissioner Gordon groggily heard his story and then ordered the Bat Signal turned on.

If Batman was still on patrol he would see the signal.

Bruno Manheim and his underboss were hurriedly trying to restore Intergang to prominence. Nearly the whole gang had been broken and imprisoned months ago when they first showed up but the Midnight Rambler had given them some directions on how to restore the organization.

Day 76: Early Morning; the Negative Zone, in an alternate reality.

Jose Delgado as Gangbuster was trying to protect Metropolis in his friend Superman's absence. He was on patrol when he was taken by a rift in reality.

Mercy Graves and Leslie Willis (Livewire) stood apart and studied each other. Each one kind of suspected the other of their present situation.

They studied each other with curious malevolence.

Livewire and Mercy Graves had their attention drawn to a nearby battle that was occurring that involved several individuals that they had never seen or heard of before.

Livewire's curiosity was peaked and she flew over and got into the thick of it, not knowing who's side she ought to be on. However; as a former shock jock she loved to stir up the pot and decided she could aggravate the situation, which was something she loved to do.

She waded in and attacked Johnny Storm.

Mercy Graves watched the proceedings with arms folded, She was not going to get in the middle of all that fighting.

As she watched the battle from a relatively safe distance, Gangbuster emerged from the rift in reality.

She saw him out of the corner of her eye and turned to confront him.

Gangbuster spotted Mercy Graves and recognized her as Lex Luthor's bodyguard/chauffeur.

But he also saw the larger battle and his eyes widened at the strange figures involved in the battle.

"What's going on here?" he asked.

"I have no idea. I just got here a little before you. I saw Livewire when I appeared but she decided to immediately stick her nose right in the middle of all that."

"Where are we?"

"What makes you think I would know that if I don't know what this is all about? I have no idea where we are but I don't like being here."

As they were talking, Captain Beyond collected Gangbuster and teleported him to his home in the Metropolis of this reality while the Midnight Rambler collected Mercy Graves and brought her to her quarters at LexCorp.

General Zod, backed by the two Kryptonians from the city of Kandor, looked at Superboy and the Eradicator and said quietly, "Which of you is actually Superman?" The two Kandorians looked at him sharply.

Superboy, demanded, "Before we answer that, I want to know who you are. And you for that matter." referring to the Eradicator.

Eradicator chose to speak. "I am the Eradicator, I was originally a device designed to protect Kryptonians." He outlined his history up to and including how he came to be the humanoid figure he was now. He also acknowledged that he knew about Zod and his past and how he fell in disfavor for trying to save Krypton from destruction, answering some of Superboy's questions before Zod could.

Superboy knew of the Phantom Zone and was not happy to learn that he was dealing with someone who had somehow escaped it.

He answered truthfully that he was Superboy and that he was from an alternate reality where Superman began his career before he was fully grown.

Zod smiled malevolently. A small bit of revenge was standing right before him.

Mon-el was the first of the fallen Legion members to recover. He moved over and stood beside Superboy, slightly confused. Zod hadn't noticed Mon-el before this but he was startled to see him free of the Phantom Zone as well. This was unexpected.

Mon-el recognized Zod and was alarmed to see him free of the Phantom Zone also. Mon-el knew how dangerous Zod was now.

The Eradicator was still a slave to his programming and was ready to defend any Kryptonian against non Kryptonians.

Zod knew he would have to do this carefully so that he could manipulate the Eradicator towards his own ends.

Zod decided to appear benevolent for the time being.

Mon-el didn't trust Zod and his misgivings infected Superboy. The two worked to revive the other Legionnaires.

Zod and the two Kandorians had gathered the members of the Crime Syndicate and claimed they were taking the villains to be incarcerated.

Zod attempted to bring the Eradicator with him but the latter chose to stay with Superboy. He decided that Superboy was the primary Kryptonian that he needed to protect, even if he had to fight Zod again.

Gangbuster was delivered to his apartment home in Suicide Slum. Captain Beyond told him to watch the news and look at a stack of Daily Planet newspapers on his kitchen table for answers to what was going on.

Mercy Graves was delivered to her quarters on Lex Corps property.

She had barely arrived when someone knocked on her door. She answered and there was Lex Luthor accompanied by Hope Taya.

Luthor stepped in without fanfare.

They had a discussion about what she had seen and Luthor was very interested in what she had to say.

Zod and the two Kandorians took the Crime Syndicate to the building which housed the recuperating Anti-Monitor.

This place could not be penetrated by any kind of X-Ray vision so none of the three most powerful Legion members could see what they were up to.

Zod ordered the two Kandorians to stand watch outside, then he waited for the Crime Syndicate members to revive.

Livewire took great pleasure in zapping Johnny Storm and began chasing him around, zapping him. In her state, she was immune to his flames but he wasn't immune to her electric shocks.

she drove him away from the conflict which was a boon to the two Negative Zone villains.

Mon-el spotted the conflict between the F.F. and their opponents.

Although they were heavily concerned about Zod and the Crime Syndicate,
they felt they needed to investigate this.

They sent Ultra Boy, Saturn Girl, Brainiac 5 and Element Lad to look into this fight.

Superboy, Mon-el and the Eradicator went off to Quard to investigate what Zod was up to.

Brainiac 5 requested help from the rest of the Legion and suggested Superman be notified as well.
