At first I was confused why you said energy explosion was a deminished power when it's on Harvey Bullock but the set is ripe for it when it's on Batman Beyond, then I realized it's being coupled with the improved targeting on Terry that really makes it useable. There's not a ton of invulnerablity in this set so hitting groups with that explosion will really make an impact.

I got smacked by one myself yesterday. It was bait though-- I knew he'd have to extend his Terry out of stealth to do it, and I could then take him down, even after the hit.
Seems the best way to deal with Terry is to coax your opponent into getting two tokens on him, then dogpile.
IF they concentrate on her and KO her,
then it is THEIR 340 POINTS against your 260 points .
That sounds bad to me.
It doesn't matter if you might get her back later.
(the odds of that are not good)
If your 260 points is trying to concentrate on getting that 40 point figure back, the rest of his 300 points is wrecking house on your 260.
(with Catwoman either actively helping that 300 -
making it 340 -
or that Catwoman kinda lurking in his back lines
and using her Perplex to help out his 300)
.
She's dangerous.
And so hot that you'll probably be burnt.
And 0 of those attacks went on your other characters that were presumably attacking while the ganged up on the cat
After playing in prerelease events, I have to disagree with quite a few ratings.
I hate the idea of Catwoman' switching sides, but in sealed she was Amazing. Her having both of the most common team abilities in the set was great, her perplex was useful, and when she got hit onto flurry/blades with an 11 attack she took down a rare Superman in one round!
Mr. Freeze was worth playing himself. Sharing his high attack and blasting all the common Jokers everyone ran. That common Joker might be the best 30pts in the game but Mr. Freeze put the hurt on him in every round.
And true, there is ALOT of stealth in the set, but many of the tougher to deal with clix like the JLU rares generally do not have it, and ranged attackers were very useful against them
I saw some discussion on Dee Dee. I totally don’t get the sculpt/dial on this figure. Based on the sculpt it is clear that both characters are represented by the figure, but the powers imply two of these should be played next to each other. Can someone explain this (apparent) discrepancy? Were there actually 4 of them, instead of the two I remember?
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash
I played Gordon and Harvey Bullock last night and I think they are both great for their points for this set. Harvey is definitely worth pushing to Perplex, and can deal damage in the right situation in his late-dial. Not to mention his toughness protects him from poison. Gordon's ability to incapacitate even when he fails a roll is amazing, even if he is so easy to kill.
Also: the Catwoman I played against was really great for her points. The lower point pieces in this set seem way more useful than your ratings might suggest

Movement Ignores: Hindering Pretty Poison: Poison. Poison Ivy has PROTECTED: Poison.
Like Robin above, she’s most valuable if you want the Perplex and don’t have other options. If she can stay in hindering and still get to Poison somebody, that’s useful-- but most often she’s going to get taken out before that happens.
I was underwhelmed by this piece until I played against her. Stealthed Perplex is really strong, as you mentioned. Poison with Poison immunity is pretty good in a set with so many figures without reducers. But a defense of 17CR combined with Stealth makes her really hard to deal with if your map has a lot of hindering. There isn't much anti-Stealth in this set, so she is going to be a pain for most teams to take out quickly. Well worth the investment, IMO.
Thanks for writing these up! I really love to read the Primers as each set comes out.

Harvey is easy to hit but one EE and you're golden.

There was an episode where they got the power to duplicate themselves so there was a whole mess of them dogpiling on Batman. It was crazy! So, having both on the sculpt isn't entirely unfounded. Just confused as to why we didn't get the other 2 Jokerz...the scarecrow wannabe and the hyena dude.
I plan to play 3 at a time for sidestepping, empowering, shape changing, taxi shenanigans with attack bonuses for being adjacent to each other - yes, they will each be swinging 12 for 4...and at 45pts...it all about swarmming with them.

WK hasn't made a great regular Harley for a while. That harley is fantastic!
She was great in the sealed game I played yesterday. Ignatz definitely hit the nail on the head in terms of how to play her. I actually never rolled for her trait the whole game. Kept her top dial for outwit until she got hit with EE but then she was at 11 attack sharing it with her pals Mr Freeze and Ventriloquist letting them fire away for 11/3
If I recall correctly, when I used Batman Beyond, his stealthbusting didn't actually end up mattering much, but he was still fantastic. The Energy Explosion is an amazing option to have in this set, as is later dial Quake plus Steal Energy for lots of healing.
