Yeah, it wasn't totally unannounced, but it also didn't get anywhere near the attention that other events usually get. So, last weekend there was an Earth Day clean up global event. Niantic wasn't the coordinator, but there was a notice (I forget where) that Niantic sent out stating there would be a number of levels of global rewards at certain levels if PoGo players volunteered to help local (for the player, not Niantic) efforts. All of the goals were met, so we are getting increased ground type spawns, shiny Diglett (Kanto only), 2x catch stardust and 2x catch candy and Groudon returning to raids, all for 72 hrs that started 4/29 1pm PST.

I caught a shiny Diglett last night on my commute home with my Gotcha. Didn't find it till this morning when I clearing out my Pokemon inventory. Also would have saved my free pass from yesterday till after the event started for an extra chance at Groudon, but I didn't know it was going to start so I'd used my pass on Giratina which is actually just as good respective to the ghost type attackers, so still not a wasted pass. But that's one less shot at getting another shiny Groudon.

Weather is getting nicer out but this thread is dying. Are you guys playing at all?

Still playing, just haven't had much to report. Starting new gig on Monday so ...I'm going to be a ghost until August.

Every week or so they release an event where we click on hundreds of pokemon trying to find a shiny. You either find one or you don't.
Next week is more clicking.
I've gotten several shinies over the years that weren't boosted shiny-rates, but I'm fairly certain I've NEVER gotten one during its event when it is released and spawning all over the place. With the possible exception of Psyduck. I got him during his event, but it is unclear to me if the event was boosted/unboosted or partially-boosted like Diglet this last time.

I have gotten 2 shines in the past week or so though.
Swablu(my third) and my girlfriend got one literally a minute later on her next click.
And Tailow(My second).
But did not get/have not got Buneary, Shuckle, Aipom, Jigglypuff, Sandshrew, Ratatta and really a whole lot. But I expect that's everyone's situation.

Come to think of it my two before that were Pidgey and that dumb Wingull. So maybe I'm just cursed with birds. Jigglypuff kind of floats. We'll know if he's my next one.

Well, Pidgey and Rattata were released in the same event...so you can add another one to your list of shinies gotten during its release event... Unless you got that sometime after the event ended.

But yeah, this game has gotten a bit too repetitive lately and the group that I normally raid with feels like is kinda drifting so there isn't much keeping me tied to this game. I do have plans to go to GoFest in Chicago, but I think once Harry Potter releases in the US, I might drop off the map for a while. But I also don't see that game having much in the long term to keep me playing either. But its still in beta right now, so maybe they'll be able to add new content at a fast enough pace to keep me playing.

I did get two shinies yesterday though (psyduck and snubull). And last week's breakthrough reward got me a shiny Latios.

I had an extremely good diglett event, but nothing really exciting has happened since... have 3 Azelf so far, though.

Lets see he was captured on 4/11/2019 and his event was... 2/26/2019-2/28/2019. I didn't think it was that far after, but better late than never!

I was bored and found a checklist for shines.
I couldn't get it to upload to HCrealms, so that's why it's sent to an upload site.
The green Xs are ones that are checked off in the Pokedex, even though I've never actually had them. The Alolan Digletts are checked off too but unlisted in the chart.

I have hatched 963 eggs with 2 shinies that I recall: Mareep(Boo, already had a ton from the event) and Magby(Woo hoo!).

Only 103 raids/70 legendary raids - No shines from them except when part of a boosted event.

And 1 from weekly quest turn ins, don't know how many but I've only missed maybe 3-5 days ever. Zapdos(Needed him!)

0 from general quest turn ins.

These are all to the best of my memory and are subject to my own error. But anyone else want to share this type of info?

It's fairly easy to check by searching for "Shiny" in your pokemon. "Lucky" and "Legendary" work too. And the numbers of eggs and raids are in your badges.

1,905 eggs hatched. 6 shinies (search "hatched") Wailmer, Azurill, Elekid, Pineco, Mareep and Pichu.

775 raids/640 legendary 1 shiny (non-event) Kyogre

2 from research breakthroughs Articuno, Latios

At least 1 from regular research encounters (not including event ones) Magikarp.

Has anyone else's location tracking just gone totally off the rails since the latest update? Lots of jumping to places I'm blocks away from, showing up as nowhere near a Pokestop that I'm physically touching, that sort of thing.

There seems to be a water event?
