Originally posted by Suskis Right: clubs in 3025 were not the same as in 3050. In 3025 the hatchetman had no hatchet, thats'all.
Actually, in the latest starter set, the hatchet does exist. It's considederd to be level one tech, and all level 1 tech is 3025. The rules are the same as using a club, but you don't have to use both arms. Do they get more complicated in level 2 tech/3050
Also, SEs don't just represent equipment, they also represent the pilot's skill. So, the hth SE could represent the how the pilot knows just where to drop that hatchet.

Heh, I'd forgotten about the good old standby of using a piece of battlefield debris as a club to beat you opponent.
Wizkids, since you gave us the Shieldturion, I want the next Atlas to have HtH SE and a big steel girder or tree trunk in his hands ;)
Note: I understand the viewpoint that longdead characters shouldn't get MW figs, but like I pointed out with Kal, being dead doesn't necessarily mean you can't be played in legal tournements (now being a POS like Kal can keep you from being played, but you could play him if you wanted to make your opponent laugh...)
The way i see it, since most of the people panning my idea of 'logical reason for being made as a figure' are CBT fans, which i am not a master of the continuity of, i have less of a reason to see those characters made. But that isn't because i think they couldn't be cool figures.
On the point of Kal Radick...that is a point in favor of the old characters, but not by much...DA storywise, you could be playing before his death in 3133 if you care THAT much about the novel storyline...(even i don't care that much).
The other characters you guys are clamoring for just aren't DA characters per se, so i don't see it happening.
You could always play historic scenarios with those CBT charachters. How about refight of the Battle of Luthien with MWDA minis and rules? Or how about any other legendary battle from CBT's era were those charachters had large part to play? It would be as ok as using Kal Radick in battles before his death, only that those CBT charachters are 1000 times better than any current charachter in MWDA.
In the early 90's FASA redid the TR:3025 so the mechs with hatchets had hatchets built in. The rules are the same Level 1 and level 2. They are considered level 1 tech, which means they work in a 3025 setting.
The Hand to Hand SE means more than just having a club or Hatchet. Mechs like Adedo Measho have Hand to Hand on thier dial (Last 2 clicks for him) without the hardware.
Personally, I'd love to see a whole expansion filled with pieces from the Fourth Succession War - 'Mechs, Vehicles, and Infantry in the Great Houses factions. It wouldn't be fair to put those weak mechs against the new stuff, anyway, so I don't care it the rules was not to mix them.
