events will mean fewer Battlemasters so those who
are just TOWING THE PARTY LINE,may be out of a job.

I am sick of battlemasters mindlessly following this Wizkid$ treachery. Listen, you wanna support Wizkid$ then fine. Support them by telling them what the fans want. If you want to save this game then you will HAVE to listen to the fans because it is us who are making this game possible. If you don't like it well too freaking bad because WE are paying Wizkid$ for this. And battlemasters know they are against this because it doesn't take more than a room temperature IQ to see that they will get no prizes from Wizkid$ is ppl don't show up to their events.

We were promised by the game designer in no uncertain terms that there would be "no figure retirement". Wizkid$ is a company and they need to make money but they cannot make it without the fans (or need I point you to creepy freaks). BOYCOTT Wizkid$. Do not senselessly invest money on the game until they have changed this.

And lastly you people want to support Wizkid$? You must have never heard of ethics. How is it ethical for Wizkid$ to make a big push to sell DA startes by offering LE's for them, and for them to wait until sales spike to tell ppl that they will be retireing what you just bought. And you thought Martha Stewart was a crook. This is Enron on a small scale. Hey guys buy this....it's ok u can use it forever. OH WAIT NO YOU CAN"T.

You know, I kind of wonder how many players actually post here. As far as I know, I'm one of two in my area. 2 people out a dozen isn't that many. Now, if that ratio is even close to the actual one, I can imagine that there could be a majority of people who support (or just don't care about) this decision.

I'm one of three players from my venue that post here with

I'd like to start out by saying that I respect your views on this issue. No one wants to get "berated". I know for I too am a BATTLEMASTER. I fully intend to run "Restricted" events by the book for I too signed a contract. I'll eat s@#t, it doesn't mean I have to like it, and it certainly doesn't mean I can't send it back the kitchen. When someone approaches me at a tournament and requests to use a "retired" piece. I'll kindly inform them "Wizkids said in order for you to be competitive, you MUST buy new sets and shelve the old stuff you've dutifully collected the past few years." Of course they'll complain because that's what I've told them to do. Then I'll give them an envelope, stationary and a stamp so they can send their letters to Wizkids.

Now, Luftvier, let me take issue with you over how you intend to treat players who follow my advice and take issue with Wizkids at your events.

Deny players with "retired" figures the right to play. Fine, I've already stated my willingness to do so under contract. However, I will do so much less gleefully than you sir.

You, an envoy of wizkids, entrusted with the goodwill of the company, would have a player with a legitimate protest forcibly removed from your store? What kind of message does that send to the "new" players your trying to entice?

You would ban said players after exercising their right of redress of grievences? Is there no other right so dear to the heart of Americans than that of protest? I find it troubling that a representative of Wizkids would take such an action. You would go so far as to have a loyal player arrested? Are you willing to put someone in jail over a game?

You said Wizkids spoiled us like our grandparents. That's a nice sentiment. How's all of your BM support. Who's spoiled now! Your suppose to be the middleman between Wizkids and the player/customers who buy their product. Stop acting like the bossman and start acting like the advocate/representative your supposed to be. It's obvious by the transcript of the Moderated Chat from the other night and the countless threads and replys in the MW forums that very few players like this plan. Your supposed to tell Wizkids what we think. It's your job genius. Stop being a tool and start listening to those who show up so you can get your Level 5 fig.

Anywho, people seem to be taking this way too far. I'll ignore the personal attacks on people I know much better than most of you (noeticist and luftvier) and focus on what people seem so mad about: I sunk a lot of money into this game and now it is all worthless. Well, cheer up, because this change won't affect this game for at least another YEAR AND A HALF. So what's the big deal? To be honest, I'm shocked that this game has lasted as long as it has, and I think we should just be happy if this game is around in any incarnation in a year and a half.

But, to be honest, I'm ticked about that too. I'm also ticked when I pull 2 HL Trike Squads, a SC DI Towed Field Artillery, and a Merc ConMod MK.II out of a DFA booster. This is a collectible game, so you will have stuff you don't like or want.

It's also funny to wtch how people throw around legal terms here like they're candy. Be careful with what you say and how you use words, they can come back and burn you later (especially if you are a BM and have signed a contract...though I haven't seen the BM contract, I'm fairly certain that some things that have been posted by BMs are in violation of clauses of their contracts).

Just some non-abrasive thoughts.

!?!?!?! They are already talking about retiring sets that have only been out for 18 months! That is not the way to get people to buy your product. If I know that figures have an expiration date then do you think I will buy more or less of your product?

If WizKids($) is truly concerned about new players not having the "must have units" then just release new figures that do the same/similar things. Don't use a Tac Nuke to kill a fly. The collateral damage (ie lost customers) is not worth it!

I just recently took a look at the new approved play rules and I have come to the opinion that WK has lied and cheated to us enough. The game has been reduced to a moneymaking scam on the behalf of WK and I think this time it has gone too far. If you agree with me please send a letter or E-mail to WK in this format:

I: Your name here pledge to boycott all Wizkids products if the new approved play rules go through. I will continue to boycott these products until the rules are changed. If these rules are not change I pledge not to support Wizkids in any way shape or form. I am tired of being lied to by WizKids and I shall not put up with anymore lies, I shall revert to this contract if Wizkids lies to me in the future after fixing the approved play rules.

Well, stop buying boosters... ok, I second that.... well, I don't buy any boosters, either, so that won't be a change.... ;)

About protesting at tournaments and venues.... it won't help if one person appears at the venue and demands to play with the pieces that are sold in the shop, and gets kicked out for it. But what if 25% or 50% do that? Does it still not matter for the Battlemaster? Can he afford to send half of his players home?

I have an other question. What if a game master willingly breaks Wizkids' rule and allows the retired pieces at his games. Of course, Wizkids will kick him. But... what if the players are united and refuse to play under an other Battlemaster? If you have only one venue at a region, and this one is without Battlemaster, and so no one comes to play any more, what will Wizkids do, then? I can see it coming... there was a thread here on the Realms suggesting that.

We can break them, if we are just united. If we are... what can they do against us? Nothing, can cannot force us.

You can begin protesting by staying at home at Nationals. That would be a start.

I think you should wright the letter, you're a leval headed rashional guy. if you wrote one I would save up the money I would be spending on boosters and invest in stamps and letters, send that baby out everyday and get everyone else to also. Just gimme a letter and tell me who to address it to and bam! mailing them off daily. All I know i'm ganna grab anyone who is going to events and invite them to my house... mabey have one person go to the sponsered event so they automaticly get the prize, then have them come to my house and we hold unrestricted events. the WK prize is the prize! weee, sounds like a good idea to me, but I would like to prevent this situation. We (as a group of anti-retierment people) need one letter that we send out daily to protest.
